i made a phone call and heres the rundown...

Check this out mate. :)

thanks that pretty much covers everything, i know about coilpacks etc so its just the other bits im looking out for.

i know its had a cambelt and pump not too long ago so should all be good, i do know the car is getting ready for a service which i would do myself if i buy the car.

cheers

Do an HPI check on it mate

I was all set on buying a 51 plate red one with low mileage and all the right goodies for £4k and the guy seemed honest enough but as soon as I done the check it came back as a Cat C write off. When I mentioned this to the guy he hung up straight away and turned his phone off, twat.

Soooooooo glad my wife talked me into getting the check tho

Its the best £40`ish you can spend when buying a car. If you know anybody in the car trade or works at a dealership etc.. you should be able to get it free or for a beer ;)

been to look at the car and..

i didnt buy it, the car itself wasnt in the best of conditions but it was the test drive that put me off. the car i drove has got a jabbasport custom map and is running 208bhp but i was extremley dissapointed with the car on the whole.

i found it very slow if im honest (compared to what im used to) and i just know i wouldnt be happy owning one!!

thanks for everyones help on the forum, i may aswell leave now as im no longer going to buy an ibiza.

it was short but sweet :)

given that our old Ibiza was capable of handing out 'ass' to 280bhp subaru's it's either got to be something seriously quick, or that ibiza had a fault (probably MAF related)

and you're wondering why a 208bhp ibiza felt slow? Get an IHI ibiza

i expected more from it if im honest, they arnt that heavy so i thought 200bhp would be adequate.

the car i went in was very nice inside and i liked the look of the car but i found it bland to drive, i know the ibiza has got bags of potential but i know i wouldnt be happy even with a 250bhp one.

my 200sx used to run a 13.1 second 1/4 mile and at times i fealt that wasnt fast enough! back to the drawing board i guess

an ihi ibiza will do 13's all day, but they just arent great off the line but once rolling will feel really quick.
mapped ibizas average mid 14's
mines running aroud 230-240 and im looking for more power so i know what you mean but they are great cars.

i did like the interior and exterior of the car (although the one i viewed wasnt very tidy)

the build quality was really good as was the ride, but it just fealt gutless if im honest! 2nd gear took a lifetime and once at 80mph in 3rd it just fealt like it didnt want to go anymore

I dont think anybody has 10k to spend even if it is IHI. Abit over proced IMO.

It is a very nice looking car though and go`s like stink!
