YIPEEEEE just had my LCR maped with a AmD stage 1

The incress in power is wicked it just keeps pulling all the way through the rev range i was to scared to look at the guages for to long but i think its hiting about 1.8 bar of boost .
The roads were very greasey this morning and the ESP light was working overtime cant wait for them to dry out and open it up.

Any one thinking about remaps the AmD one is well worth thinking about just give Shaun a ring 01708861827

you cant beat a remap for pure bang for buck mate, mine was done about three weeks ago, the only problem is getting dry roads to have some fun. its pissed it down for three weeks since, or if its not raining its heavy frost and grit. grrrrr.

I had the AMD map for a couple of days but wasn't overly impressed by it. Shaun and the guys also fitted a Pipercross panel filter, and the Split R dv (both of which i see you have).

I "tested" the difference against a standard 210 lcr, and to 80mph we were pretty dead even, it was only after we both changed into 4th, it was as though he'd hit the brakes and i'd not...from 80mph upwards the acceleration increase with the map was impressive, but how often do you use the power at those speeds? I couldn't justify the money on such increase at the time, so i got a refund. Although i'd like to think that during the new year i will get it remapped again, but instead of the Split R dv, i'll stick to a recirc (once the map was reverted to stock, the split r dv gave me fault codes and limited me to 4psi of boost...so that got refunded too! Since the stock dv has been back on, all faults dissapeared and im back to the 11psi mark).

Shaun also put the Revo map on and that felt exactly the same as the AMD one...so unless you want to turn the map on or off, may aswell go AMD, as it's a lot cheaper!

I think they must have changed it now as it was a lot faster from slower speeds than it was before.
As i said before it has been very slipery all day and the wheels have been strugling for grip, hopfully it might dry up soon and then ill get an idea of how fast it realy is.

I've read in a couple of threads now that you were disappointed with the re-map you tried. I'm very surprised, as the difference in my humble LC 180 before and after a [very cheap] P-Torque re-map was incredible - honestly like 2 different cars.

Also surprising - I know the characteristics of the various maps are different, but the main difference in mine is the lower end of the scale - the 0-80 acceleration is vastly quicker than standard. 80+ just feels more torquey.

Maybe you had a duff map?

more likely a duff component on the car (MAF). remapped should have transformed it regardless of those two you tried.

agreed, the car is totally different when mapped and mine keeps going to about 7,000 rpm instead of 5 and a half. its a lot sharper than the standard car. my car was putting out 225 bhp on star performances rollers and i'm going there again in february for a RR day so i'll know then roughly what the car is putting out now.

maybe it's because i had a pd130 ibiza before this lcr, and i had the ibiza revo'd which saw an increase from 130bhp and 227 lbs/ft torque, to 180bhp and 300 lbs/ft torque...now that was an incredible difference! I couldn't believe the transformation.

however when i had the lcr mapped, it WAS quicker don't get me wrong...but the increase didn't feel as great as the ibiza when i mapped that. Maybe its because even with the lcr mapped, i'm still not experienceing the 300 lbs/ft of torque that i had in the ibiza.

either way, i'm looking at going straight to stage 2 in the new year, once i have a Piper RS exhaust (cat back), a 007P and a 4bar fpr ready to go on at the same time. In my head, this should definately satisfy the increase in power i'd originally hoped for.

btw- revo's website state that with stage 1 you get 265bhp and with stage 2 you get an extra 10-15% useable power...does that mean stage 2 can produce between 290 - 300bhp?? seems a bit high

most guys i've seen get around 285 bhp with stage two.

0-60's don't change alot right up untill 350 BHP because of the FWD. But the 40-100 times are where you'll notice the big differences

Well yes you comparing a lighter car aswell and its a derv so the initial rush of torque will be far greater.

But race a 250 ft-lbs petrol car next to a 300 ft-lbs diesel and the petrol will win due to torque being effective for a longer time, the diesel will 'feel' faster but only for a short rev range

Its not to bad i got 29 mpg avg yesterday i was driving sensebley though
got a noce long drive tomorrow on some A roads so that will be intersting

Sorry, I'm a newbie... what's the normal MPG? Also with diesels does the MPG go up or down?
