Better stronger front discs????

Hello

I have a LCR (225) and last year i upgraded the pads to the ferrodo ds2500. The braking was much improved but within 3 months the discs had become warped and i could feel it in the steering wheel everytime i braked, more noticeable at higher speeds.

A few months ago i had the discs replaced and the brake judder had dissapeared, but now it is slowly starting to come back.

My question is can anybody reccomend a stronger / harder disc that will last longer than the standard brembo which i find very easily warps :(

Alternatively is there a preffered combination that works better then standard but lasts longer?

Thanks for any advice :D

if you are warping one piece brembo disks, your overheating them. 2-piece disk will run cooler but ~£499 a pair (330mm)
alternatively you can try out EBC castings as a comparison for less ££ than brembo. these have been performing well.

What process did you apply to bed in your brakes?

Thanks for that bill £499 is within my budget so do you have any info on these discs and will they be ok with the ferrodo ds2500?.

(300mm) i thought the LCR was 323x28

sorry i meant 330mm not 300mm :D are these to be used with some sort of spacers like the discs that AP make and again will they wok ok with ds2500 as these are trackday pads

As for the process to bed them in i drove with caution braking gently for approx 100 miles then after that i braked as normal. It took about 3 months before the brake judder crept back in again

Thanks

have a read thru this post in my section.

330mm will come with small spacers to go between your calipers and mounting brkts.
Choice of AP rotors or a.n.other brand I use (and race on myself)

They are lighter and will run cooler. DS2500 pads not an issue, nor are DS3000 (as again this is exactly what I race on myself.. 330mm LCR front setup that I make and sell - race proven)

If you can afford the 2 piece discs then i wouldnt bother looking at anything else, they are awesome with ds2500 pads, ive got them on mine and the difference it has made to braking is unreal,i thought it was good when i had ds2500 pads but its in a completely different league with the ap 2 piece discs, you will never be out braked with these mothers on,very powerfull!.I would go for ds2500 pads too as they are the perfect match for the discs, but if you are forking out on new discs i would also get a new set of ds2500 pads to go with them, then they bed in with the new discs.

Couldn't agree more after doing my first track day at Brands with the same setup.

I was getting really impressive braking and was braking as good if not better than all the lightweight Peugeots and Renaults on the track.

I eventually boiled my brake fluid and turned my calipers a darker shade of red but the AP discs and pads were fine, not too much wear either [B)]

Just had my fluid change to 5.1 so next time I reckon no probs :funk:
