How Can I Tell 210 LCR from 225?

Hi, am wondering if all 225 models come with the teardrop mirrors? I'm looking to buy a 225 Cupra R now.. but all i can find is 210 Cupras selling under a 225 advert... its doing my head in, only way i find out is when i key in number plate in insurance quotes .. is their any website i can key in a numberplate and it will tell me what the car really is? or is their any quick way of telling?

My car was registered on 1st May 2003, this was about the time of the last 210 models. My car has teardrp mirrors. The few ways to tell are tracker, red stripe on steering wheel and red cupra badge. Don't worry too much about getting a 225 if your going to remap you get the same figures

get the engine code.
it will be on a sticker under the boot carpet, next to the spare wheel.

AMK is 210
BAM is 225

the 03 plates are abit of a mixture, the engine code will tell you for sure.

No point worrying what your getting mate, I went for 210, casue they came with full recaros and they were doing a good price!

easiest way to tell from the outside:
04 onwards = 225.
03 with square mirrors = 210
03 with tear drop coule be 225 or 210
Strip on top of steering wheel and has tear drops indicate thats its likely a 225, but..
some have changed these on the 210, so its just an indication

only conlcusive way is to check the engine code. AMK= 210 BAM =225.
engine code in on front offside top edge of engine.

badges also changed colour i believe, but again the only was to be sure is engine/ log book.

Cheers for your help guys, you all right about the engine code, however i really wanted to just go look at 225's but the internet is my only source of info + pics so i have to look out for what im looking at if that makes sense? so their aint no flipping bonnet or checking log books, its what ever people upload of the car.. and i cant be doing with all this e-mailing saying "are you sure this car is a 225"

No need mate, its so easy to tell.

52/03 plated LCR's are definitely 210's

04/54/05/55/06/56 plated LCR's are definitely 225's

The only grey area is the 53 plate where 90% are 225's and remainder 10% late registered 210 cars.

Easy, just buy a 04+ and its guaranteed.

No difference apart from steering wheel anyway

thanks guys!! after reading this i had doughts about my lcr so went to have a look in the boot for the sticker next to the spare wheel,and my doughts were comfirmed,its a 210,i was told it was a 225 when i bought it a year ago.even tho its been revo'd and now over 225 its still a pain in the arse,so be carefull when buying guys.

If you go on autotraders website on the home page on the left is a box which says enter your reg here, its for a data check, it will bring up model details for free, then if you want the history check it will charge you, should tell you straight away whetther its 210 or 225 model.
