I'm thinking of getting my 53 plate lcr 225 chipped and Im not sure of what chip to go for. I have bmc cda and also a blueflame cat back and a forge diverter valve, so do I go for a stage 1 or stage 2 ?. Also will I need to change the fuel pressure regulator to a 4 bar one as Ive read on the revo pages, what is the standard pressure regulator? sorry for all the questions but Ive never had any of my cars chipped before so any advice is welcome.

many thanks Dan.

if you are talking remapping of the ECU then there are several....Revo, Jabba, AMD and APR etc. Am Revo 2 myself. There is plenty of info on here but any remap of the above will give plenty bang for your buck. Two main routes are Revo which is a generic code with adjustable settings such as fuel, boost and timing. Jabba or custom code is custom to suit whatever mods you have made. FPR is the small circular item on the fuel rail. for stage 2 revo yes you need 4 bar fpr and fmic.
hope this helps

3 bar regulator is standard.
go for the stage 2 it's best in the long run

thanks for the advice and info, you wouldnt happen to know the rough price of a 4 bar regulator and also do you think I could get it done at the place I get my chip done?. Also are u running a chip and if you are what one is it ?.

thanks Dan

cheers banana man for the info might opt out stage 2, a fmic is when the price starts going up too much, think I might just look at the stage option for now.

VAGPARTS have a 4 Bar FPR, but not the right engine codes I think, but it's about £50.

If you're thinking of going Stg 2 REMAP, then you will need a FMIC, which is gonna cost you ~£700.

If thats too rich, then I'd advise Jabba / Custon Code Stg 1, as they can do bespoke MAP for your car & it's mod's

I'v got mine booked with AmD for this saterday. (as long as i dont get any more bills come in befor then )
I'm going for AmD own chip, i'v been told its very similer to the REVO one but a bit smoother and cheaper.
There are some really good offers on at the moment so dont think about it to long.
I'll post up how the AmD map performs after christmas, I'v got a nice long drive to Devon on Boxing day, cant wait to get it on the A roads :D

looks like it could be a custom code or jabba stage 1 then, and I wont need the fpr aswell then, cheers for the info mate.

incase you dont already... use vpower or similar fuel for the map day and onwards.. the higher octane rating makes a difference in the power levels. ;)

i used jabba for my stage 1 map and the current map.. i think youll be pleased with the results. very few seem unhappy with any of of the maps from any of the companys out there. enjoy;)

I have always used bp ultimate since I got my leon, I'm definitely gonna get it booked in somewhere after xmas, just gotta change both rad fans as low speed not working, not cheap either bout £100 each. Seat dealers wanted £480 to do the job

cheers I will have a look on top of battery tomorrow to see if they have melted, I've never heard of them melting before. I'm sure the dealers would have checked for that but you never know, might save some cash if they have melted. thanks for the info.
