hi all i have a 56 plate leon fr tdi. i'm looking into getting a hid conversion. is this poss if so could someone point me in the right direction. cheers
If you search someone has tried this and it didn`t work, the cars electronics kept on throwing up faults or something. Not sure who it was but they had the kit in the for sale section after no luck trying to get round the electronics.... So best do some homework before buying

I've got a kit that doesn't work.. cant remember who the website was that is responsible (X5 kit) but they suggested i would need to get the "ultimate" kit and offered a not bad deal.. Not bad if i had the money spare cash that is.
Led sidelights don't work either as you would expect.. unsure if anyone has actually tried load resistors and had any success.
I am sure the kit that didn`t work on the mk2 leon was from mydepots, the hids4u will probably be your best bet, but at a price... unlike the £60 ish ones that will work on a mk1. I have xenons on mine now and have tried 3 types of led sidelights and none work, well they do for a couple of seconds then the cars electronics turns em off. Still looking for an alternative to match the hids, but don`t want them to look blue when not in use as I think they will spoil the look fo the chrome.
As the HID's run 35W instead of 55W, the ECU senses a drop in current & throws up a bulb fault. This applies for LED sidelights too.
It also doesn't like the initial high voltage start up of the HID's.
You can get HID kits from hids4u that will get round this.

The hids4u kit uses digital ballasts which overcome the initial load problem.. I wish there was some way to get them to work.. it would make such a difference to the car.. If i had 200 notes spare i would buy the ultimate kit. Sadly it's not going to happen.
