Bremo like calipers and discs

Hi everyone,

just wondered if there were any cheaper caliper setups for my FR?

Really love the look of the bremo ones, yer i could just paint the standard ones but really i want them looking bigger and bremo'esc.

Any ideas or is just a case of, next time get a car with the calipers you really want LOL

the ap racing cupra brakes are vry brembo like and with standard discs and pads it handlesmy power! love my brakes! or slightly cheaper option you could go for the TT 312mm calipers try a search has been done loads of times before

Can you buy the AP kits for the FR then?

IIRC the seat sport AP setup is £600 per side

thats why people go for the TT ones at £250 the lot

Just like that proppa racing caliper look, but spose you have to pay for that premium

I don't think the AP racing calipers will fit under the standard FR alloys either. Not enough clearance. So you might need to factor in a new set of alloys as well.

I had AP on an Uno and another on a Golf 2. They are prone to seizing if you don't regularly strip and service them.

Thinking about it, its the performance i should be worried about more than anything LOL

Might be a better idea to get a TT setup, some good pads and just get the calipers sprayed the colour of choice.

Would probably still have enough money left over for a good set of tires too.......

my pd130 is spinning like crazy at the mo and my goodyears are still fine! can't imagine what it must be like for the 200bhp+ crew!

They barely fit under the Cupra wheels so I very much doubt they'll go under the FR ones.

no reason whjy you cant use specers to give the clearance but go toomuch could ruin the handling but i think the extra doh is worth it try and find some written off cupra's should get them cheaper may even get the wheels too

I've got the 312mm TT upgrade, they do stop well but rash's AP brakes are twice as good, pull your face off!!

I guess a TT setup with upgraded pads and discs will be immense!

Mine is still on standard pads/discs!

race ones have no dust seals, road going AP's like the seat sport ones are dust sealed so should have no reason to seize..

my race AP's have been faultless for 5+years now road & race use, same seals, work perfect

Haven't bought an AP setup for about 8 years now, I would assume they have developed a bit too.

Regardless, they are like hitting a brick wall. The Uno had a habit of lifting far too much at the back when you planted your foot hard on the brakes. Transformed the Golf for track days.

were yours road (sealed) AP's or Race (not dust sealed ) AP's as its a siginificant difference relevant to Seat Sport AP's which are road going calipers.

Race ones wont have them as dust seals always burn and charr to nothing in serious use anyhows.
