Now this is for my leon cupra just in case dpj says it has nothing to do with leons :lol:

i have the chance of getting one fully custom made and was wondering what peoples thoughts are on this??

i have the pro alloy one but after speaking to mitchy there will be a bit of pressure drop between the 2 outlets and it is a huge thing which does the job but maybe after something with a bit less of a pressure drop.

so would it be better single pass or twin pass?
slimmer or fatter?
smaller as in height or bigger in height?
and outlets kep to 70mm i presume>?

this is for a leon cupra not the R

single pas (like pro alloy and forge R) will be better
the pro alloy one is HUGE, a single pass in about the size of the current forge LC FMIC would be about right

i always learnt from my jap cars that too big an FMIC is a bad thing..which is what your saying regards pressure drops.

Could you not get a forge/allard etc universal and attach it to your existing Pro A pipework?

You want as big an internal flow area as you can possibly get. Unless you have a tiny turbo, it is almost impossible to get too big an intercooler on a modern car. There just isn't enough room.
Single pass, with well designed end tanks. Your better off to loose a bit of runner length to get some bigger more progressively tapered end tanks. Most of the cooling is done in the first third of the runner, as the delta T and therefore heat transfer is greater.
Depth will always have more effect on internal cross section (flow area) than height. Adding 30% to depth has the same effect as adding 30% to height and is much more doable (usually)

haha is willingly yes but it'll be worth it when the car is how i want it and as for saving money may have to start another thread where i can spend some :lol:
