^^^ I'm hoping to be buying the same in a few months time, also from MSW. Not really thinking I want to be outside taking the car apart to fit coilovers in the middle of winter...

Again I've also used MSW a few times in the past and they're a decent bunch.

Koni coilovers £692 from JKM
Eibach Pro Street coilovers £535 from Motorsportworld

I recognise both brands as pretty good manufacturers, but could anyone comment on whether the Kon coilovers would be worth the extra over the Eibachs?

Sorry for the thread hijack ;)

Koni will have a sportier feel than the eibachs, used to have eibachs and they were good, they do a more expensive one don't they?

Eibachs do a more expensive one? Only Eibach coilovers I could find are the Pro Street ones??? If by sportier you mean a harder ride, then I might be better with the Eibachs: my intended use is fast road rather than track use, plus I'd probably piss off the wife even more by going got "firmer" coilovers LOL

I'll be keen to see/experience an Ibiza on either Konis or Eibachs before I purchase, but still a few months away but good to do research

Getb Eibachs then :) lol

I don't mind the firmer/sportier ride although this weekend I caught the sump 8 times on the same stretch of road - not a nice sound!! But that's due to being uber low and young ;)

And I was doing 10mph in 2nd, driving behind me must be funny, swerving like a drunkard!

LOL, I'm like that at the moment with a series of horrendous speed humps near mine - crawling over them at walking speed because they're uber rough with very sharp edges. Went over them in a mate's dad's 535d the other day and you don't even feel them

Made me laugh last week - Speedbumps on a 800 yard stretch of raod, me 1st gear slowly over each one, up to 2nd then slow down to 1st for the bump again, same for the next 10 bumps.

Old Audi 80 driven by a total w4nker flew past me and 6 cars patiently crawling behind me at what can only be described as warp speed!!

Poor car and to55er! I can't help being young (ish - 23 now... is that still young?!) and having a nice, low car! :)

The only coilovers Eibach do is the Pro Street S ones, some places are selling them for near on £600!

The Eibachs use a progressive spring so they are not too harsh when driving normal, then when you corner hard the stiffen up.

Yeah, I'm a big fan of the Eibach Pro and Sportline springs from my Clio owning days. Unfortunately I made the mistake of buying linear springs (Apex) that were truely horrendous, but a lot of mates got either the Pro's of Sportlines and the ride quality was superb. I ended up fitting H&R coilovers to that car(progressively wound with a seperate "helper" spring of lower poundage). If I could get H&Rs for the Ibiza I would, but AFAIK they don't do them for the mk4 (6L chassis) yet.

I'm guessing the Eibach coilies will be of a good ride quality given what I know about their springs.

I wonder if Motorsportworld would do us a discount if we buy in bulk?!

I think u might be able to get a bulk order discount from Motorsportworld. Trust me mate, the eibach coilies give a brilliant ride quality; much better than standard ibiza setup. I remember the day i got them fitted in aberdeen, i made a massive post on here describing the drive toward dundee - so embarassing.. it was like how a boy would keep babblin bout his first time

LOL nice analogy

I had a similar "experience" with the aforementioned Apex springs going to H&R coilies on my Clio - unbelieveable difference.

I'm trying to wait until the spring or so to buy coilovers, so will possibly look into organising a group buy nearer the time if MSW are interested - they're not far from me either.
