i'm a bit confused about the heated wing mirrors in my leon sport.

Are they always on when the 'joystick' is set to the middle position, or are they only on when in the middle position and the heated rear window is on?

thanks

ok, so with the dial just in the central position we're not ocntinuall heating the mirrors?

Does it go off automatically or is it a toggle on/off switch?

I've been thinking exactly the same thing
From what i've done on mornings when they've been frosted up, turn the joystick into the middle and they come on, I did have the heated rear window on at the time. Then I started to wonder about when they turn off, when I turn off the rhws? When I turn the joystick off centre?

No no no. When it's in centre it's always heating, until you turn it back to either side. You can hear the relay clicking when it's turning it off and on. This is an overheating safety relay, but as it cools down it starts warming again. It's in no cooperation with the rear window heater and there is no auto-off function for the wing mirrors, only for the rear window heater.

I have been keeping it to the left or right 'just in case' so it seems it was a good move :)
I did wonder and didn't remember reading anything about it in the handbook, maybe didn't look hard enough
Cleared up though thanks :D

CORRECT.

I always keep mine set to the left mirror unless I need them to be heated (i.e. morning frost)
