Can someone do me a favour and check the speed of their folding mirrors on retracting?

For some reason when I retract my folding mirrors the driver side mirror takes a bit longer to retract. I was always sure that they both came in at the same time but noticed the slight delay on the driver side today.

I'm just worried that the motor may be on the way out.

Cheers

Both fold out the same time on my 56 plate TDI FR

Although we did have a stylance ( i think it was ) at work and the passengers side mirror took an age to come out in comparison to the drivers side .

If it seems like yours is/has got worse from the day of purchase then i would like to think they would sort it under warranty

The drivers side on mine started to become noisy after the first week or so when it folder in or out. Dealer sorted this out no probs. Maybe it just needs some more grease putting into it.

My drivers side has started to stick every now and again, I tried a burst of WD40 when folded in,
worked for a while BUT remember when they are folded in rain can get into the unit easier which
must be causing a rusting/sticking inside.

I was going to try a bit of grease on the underside of the unit to see if it helps but aint tried yet.

Really it needs the unit removing and giving a good smothering of grease, So If mine gets any
worse dealers it will go.

OK, not a leon, but my Alhambra mirrors have started taking ages to come out. They come in right away, but when you flick the switch to pop them back out they do nothing for about 40 seconds, then pop out perfectly both at once.
i'm rekoning dodgy controller unit or something? They used to come out as soon as you flicked the switch..

Anyone seen this prob before?

Right enough I'm under warranty so will see what the dealer says..

I got told Silicon Grease is the right thing to use to stop the sticking mirrors.

WD40 will dry out in no time and may even wash out any of the original grease that was remaining.

The mirrors on my Stylance (Jan 06) were fine when new, but within about 6 months the drivers side one was slow and very noisy, so it was replaced under warranty. The car is now coming up for two years old and the drivers side mirror is again noisy and slower than the passenger side.

Can anyone spot a trend?
