if they need doing you may as well get fast road ones. I changed my front mount and didn't really notice much difference.

If your current ones are ok, I personally wouldn't bother

cheers didn't know whether i would do any damage to the car still running stage 1 .. should i take it easy though and not push the car hard?

take it easy - don't use 'all the revs'

basically unless you're measuring the a/f ratio, you don't know. better safe than sorry.

run lean, melt valve, ruin engine.

unlikely, but possible

Im not sure actually how unlikely it is. I used to have a Subaru, and so read a lot of threads on Scoobynet. You see this happening quite reguarly - these idiot's buy great big turbo's, whack's them on with no remap and hey presto, engine rebuild time...

Obviously, different car/engine/turbo; but the same principle. Id just take it easy mate and not use too much boost. Better safe than sorry, as has been said.

Isnt there some issue with the grade of fuel they are meant to run on though? Heard Jap imports HAVE to be run on 98RON fuel or can melt the engine.

As for the Ibiza... Try to keep it off boost and be gentle with it till mapping is all set up. We can supply the engine mounts too if you are still in need.

Yeah, basically the JDM Scoob's (and anything else Japanese really) are mapped for 102ron petrol, and 90% are not mapped for UK fuel when imported. So then sticking anything from 95-99ron fuel is still not what the ECU is set for and this can cause engine failure.

They are very picky engines/ECU's anyway though, I had mine remapped when I added a large turbo and a few other mods and the mapper said to get the best results it needs to be mapped for 99ron V-Power. Once done, I could ONLY put 99ron V-Power in it, or it may risk the engine's life span!!

On a rare occasion when I was caught out at a motorway service station, I was forced to use BP Ultimax 99ron (in theory the same as V-Power) and it ran like a bag of sh*t!!
