Steamy Windows

Hi all, been enjoying my cupra for a month or so now and was just wondering if anyone else has a problems with the windows steaming up, i have checked for wet anywhere and the car is bone dry inside, but when i come out in the morning it is allways very steamed up, it clears well with the a/c or heater but again if i park up for an hour somewhere then go back out its fully steamed up again.

Anyone have any ideas why this is, is it common on leons??
Also i know the brake light switch is a common failure and i have read the threads on here about it all, problem i have is that the switch has been changed by seat twise in six months before i bought it then when i bought it it needed one for the new MOT. Problem is at the moment it works but i can slow down and stop for junctions without them coming on, if i press harder on a spirited drive they come on, The brakes are so good on the pedal i can stop with such little pressure they done come on.. this obv aint good .Is it going to be just another switch?? cheers all.

I've found these two things to be most common.

First is air recirculation - ensure that is turned off.

Second is the pollen filter - when was it last changed, also check it isn't damp.

I never use the resirc button unless im behind a stinky Bus in traffic or something, but ill have to check the pollen filter, dont know when i was changed, the cars is full history so hope it has been might get one anyway.. Would a dirty filter cause that?

I have a 2001 Cupra and happens alot especially this time of year. Have read many car reviews and this window problem comes up alot. Apparently Leons are common for this as the door rubber seals are not very good. I've heard other Leon drivers changing these and has cured the problem.

Any idea how much the door seals are?
Would have to be cheap to make it worth changing, I can put up with steamy windows to save cash, infact I have done for 4 1/2 years.
This hasn't caused any problems with anything, no mold, no failing eletrical system just steamy windows

first time my LCR was affected by this last night at work (normally in a garage overnight)

i put the blower on the windscreen on not much was happening & i'm nearly sure there was a little bit of ice on the inside? it took ages to even get warm but while i was waiting for something to happen i did my good deed for the day and push started a workmates old BMW 318

Ok so everyone is mentioning the window fogging and i'm not exempt, does it for fun. I have found changing or drying out the cabin air filter can help a little, as does cleaning the windows.

Mind you I've just spent the weekend extracting at least a litre of water from the back seat footwell. No idea how it got there though it did pee it down at the beginning of the week. So it seeped in somehow.

So door seals. Other than a Seat Dealer are there any after market retailers of such items? WWW links or tel numbers would be really useful. I've fathomed out how to get the door seals off and back on (after removing the underfloor upholstery).

All advice welcome.

i may have a theory for this as it happened to mine.

in the scuttle panel where the pollen filter there is a sponge mounting to hold the filter and that absorbs the water and then gets sucked in when the heater is on

to stop it u need to remove the plastic cover by the panel filter and check that the drain holes in the scuttle panel are clear and that water can drain out quickly, mine where blocked and this happend,

tdi drivers bewhere of this because the built up water can destroy your glow plug control module this also happed to me and its £48 for a new 1.

this may not be the problem but its worth a check just to be sure
