Dear All,

Just spoke to Paul at Cambley Seat and he quote £ 195 all in for my LCR 5 Year Annual 50,000 K Service. This also includes a free brake fuild replacement.

Is it a good price?

My normal Leicester Seat could only match that price and I would have to pay extra for the Brake fuild change.

Regards.

Dont know about above, but most dealers will charge you extra for the brake fluid change- like leicester are going to charge me!

just make sure its proper fluid for a start.

Let's hope so. My LCR is back in with them today to sort out a knocking noise. Only been in there 4 times now.

Very pleasent to deal with, just a bit of an arse for me to drive all the way down to Camberley each time

I got quoted £187.66 from autoworld in sheffield for my 90000 service and that was for only the usual oil and filter change. It's a decent price that mate.

Just got the car back from Camberley Seat and I have to say that I was impressed.

Paul and Richard did an excellent job. I am a very demanding person and I recommed them!!!

Even way they found a few issues:

1) Front Anti-roll Bar needs to be replaced as the mountings are coming apart. Covered by warrenty.

2)Driveshaft/gearbox seal is leaking oild. Covered by warrenty.

3) Needs a cambelt. Which I am having them do with the fanbelt and waterpump.

4) Brake disc and pads, front and rear. Only because of those Galfer pads that I brought.

5) I have had a fex problems with idling which has been ongoing for 3 years, whereby the revs go up and then drop when I am at traffic lights. This has also caused the car to stall on occasion. Anyhow Camberley found that the pipe to the boost valve was disconnected. They have fixed it and they also had to clean the trottle body as well.

Excellent dealership and were very careful with my car.

Regards.

My only comment would be on point 4. On my first service at 7,000 miles they told me I needed to change my front pads, when they didn't require changing for several thousand miles. If you are happy that yours need changing, then fine, but I would double check them if I were you.

Thanks Matt, The rear pads I can see only have about 20% of life left. But the fronts the disc are really grooved, thanks to galfer pads.

I have already had the Galfer pads on the front for 2 years now and the grooves on the disc are getting worse. You can even see the grovees from 5 metres away. As the rear pads needed doing, I just thought I would have all four done at the same time.

Brakes 4 U only quoted about £30 for rear pads and £ 38 for Rear Disc. Fornts in total about £ 200.

Camberley have quoted labour at £ 100 to do the job.

Regards.

One point 3, make sure they change the tensioner aswell, its okay getting the rest done but if the tensioner fails then its just as bad as any of the others fail ie pretty bad

I spoke to the dealer regarding the Anti-roll ball and they said that this aso includes the rubber brushes as well. Is this correct?

Also as the gearbox oil seal have to be done, does this require the removal of the track rod end? As the part is only about £ 10 I am wondering if they could change it at the same time. I will contact the dealer but wanted to find out before hand.

Regards.

Had all the work done at Camberley and once again all was perfect. The cambelt, Fanbelt, tensior and water pump came to £ 350 inc VAT.

Brakes were purchase front and rear disc and pads from brakes 4 u at £ 309 inc VAT. Fitting from Camberley Seat was £ 100.

The disc and pads were standard EBC Disc and red stuff pads. I was wondering if anyone has notice slight groving on the new disc? So far I have only driven about 35 miles and I can see one or two very slight grooves on the disc. Is this an issue? Have I purchased anothe galfer half a job disc and pads?

Regards.

Grooves are never good, and on 35 mile discs....not good!!
What made you choose the set up after already having a dodgy set up and paying the price for it?

35 mile is shocking. You do bed new brakes in for at least 500 miles don't you ? Heavy braking before this time is very risky.
