there are two the 22 and 23 i think the 225 bhp has the part 23 and 22 on the 210bhp.

they are the same!!!!

apperently the part 22 and 23 are the same. the only difference is there is a sensor in one and not the other. you can plug the gap to the sensor. i wish i knew this earlier, i paid top dollar for the turbo and i could ve got the part 23 cheaper. anyone know a decent garage to do the job. in east london/ essex.?

I believe the sensor is an EGT - Exhaust Gas Temperature sensor.

You will get a check engine light on the dash (if it's not connected) and a fault in VAG-COM but it won't affect the running one bit.

I have a 210 lcr and it defo has a k04-023 as standard. As Bill has said it is important to reconnect your egt sensor as this protects both the manifold and turbo. If the temperature exceeds 950 degs the ecu reduces the injector on time and so reducing enginne power until the temp falls back below 950 degs.
This temp is seldom reached under stock component driving conditions.:)

ecu fuel dumps and drops boost to recover egt's......... nice feature to have and retain.. that said, I think re-reading this, his car does'nt have the sensor to begin with but the new turbo has got the hole for egt sensor.
