plus polo seats are not really that sporty! u could find some mk3 bupra or mk2 bupra seats and fit them!
my 1.4 was fitted with the cupra seats and now that im looking for a new car im comparing the seats of other cars to the ones i have now....cos they are just too good!!
The polo was alot 'softer' than the ibiza, takes speed bumps nice and softly, but goes really wide when pushing it on the corners.
The ibiza has more special edition models meaning more toys for your money, the ride is firmer so bumps arent as great but as a result the car doesn't roll as much as a polo. The ibiza has a bigger boot and imo a more sporting look to it.
As craig has said bang in some decent GTi or Cupra seats and you'll be away. The only decent sports seats in a polo were the 1.4 16v ones and they aint easy to come accross.
One final bonus for the ibiza is that you get rear speaker wiring in there whereas on a polo you dont.
also is yours a pre facelift or facelift...has it got metal bumper parts cos that will male it a pre facelift, in which case check this link for bits to spruce it up http://www.vagowners.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=1946
my 1.4s seats wernt too bad i think, they were similar to the cupra just not leather and not as nice colour ...but looked bucket style, actually i think the 8v Gti's have the same seats.

The final MK2 run of 1.4 S's did indeed have 8v GTi seats in them. Think it was only T registration onwards. My 98 R 1.4 definately didn't, it had some flat freakily covered boggo ones.
Just to confirm that Cupra seats fit in a polo and vice versa. I can confirm this because I fitted some black cupra seats to my polo yesterday and they went in without any real modification, and they are awesome. Like others have said the only good polo seats you get are the 16v gti polo ones and they are very rare and IMO look pretty crap compared to the ibiza ones.
As for the door cards, I'm afraid they won't fit because the door pull handle is in a completely different place to the one of Ibiza's and also the speaker in the Ibiza is mounted to the doorcard but in the polo its mounted to the actual door itself.
