Afternoon people.

Just wanted to ask a question about "Brake Pads". I have owned my LCR from august and i think i need new brake pads. now its under seat warranty still, and it doesnt need a service for another 7k or until may. Im running standard disk as they are like new but was wondering should i upgrade the pads whilst im changing them anyway? So here are my questions

1) will my pads get changed with a 30k service (car would of only done 20k tho)
2) Should i wait for the light to come on before changing the pads?
3) Can I get uprated pads on standard disk? i get brake fad quite a bit when im driving it hard (hard is an understatment)
4) if i change the pad will that loose my warranty at seat?

also what oil should i get, just as a top up oil (its not loosing oil, but driving 600 miles this weekend so always prepared)

Cheers
Steve

p.s i got quoted just over £450 for EBC disks with Red Stuff pads front and rear (not fitted). what you think? should I pay up or just change the pads?

Check the service book. Should give details of what gets changed

I did, however the sensor on the pads has been known to be tempermental. It'll be down to your personal decision

Green Stuff pads are a firm favourite on here :)

Shouldn't do as its a 'wear and tear' item and isn't covered

Do a search for DS2500 pads on here, I fitted a set about a week ago, there just finishing bedding in now and they are much better than the standard pads....

Ferodo DS2500 pads are mcuh better than greenstuff ones.... although you will pay a premium.

About £100 inc vat and del, doesnt sound to bad.

Was looking at the OMP ones, i know some people say there good, and some people say there carp. but there £30 lol

I wouldn't fit Greenstuff to your LCR, imo they aren't up to the job. I have the ferrodo DS2500 and they are a leuge better than the brembo originals. I changed my pads before the light came on as i thought they were getting too low, apparently the light hardly ever come on anyway.
Also if you're changing them upgrade your brake fluid to help reduce brake fade.

you are not paying a premium. when Oe pads are £114+vat a set and dS2500's are £93+vat

Woah man, did you not read the instructions that came with the pads??

The bedding in procedure for DS2500/3000's is very specific.

In short, it's 25 to 30, 4 second brake applications of 50% race pressure (read race pressure as what you would class as very very hard braking) allowing a short period for cooling between each application.
