i replaced my maf a few months ago but its gone again

according to the guy at star performance my maf should be under a 12 months warranty but unfortunately i cant find the invoice/proof of purchase as of yet

do you think the dealers will be ok with it or not

i dont really want to shell out another £75 for a new one so i was looking at this incase i dont get a replacement for free

what do you think

Editing your spelling
where did you get the new one from? if it was from a dealers they should be able to look back at your customer/car history and see the maf purchase.

if not then your out of luck. The ebay one seems ok but not branded from what i could tell, not sure i would go with it.

You DO NOT need a actual receipt as proof of purchase unless you paid with cash. If you have your credit card/debit card this is proof of purchase as they legally have to keep a record of the transaction. You can also get your credit card company to print you off an invoice or whatever.

Where maf are concerned be wary of chinese made equipment. Sure it wont damage your car but it probably wont last long either. I have had two from gsf and they both went crazy after about 3 months. Got one from my local vw and the car has never been better.
Ps they gsf stuff was remanufactured Bosch, can you believe it or are Bosch not all they are supposed to be.

after how long does a maf need replacing.....is it expensive:think:

just depends mate

they are more prone to go if your car is not standard

a maf from a seat garage will set you back about £70 quid and you need to hand your old one in to get it at that price
