ok not sure on any where off top of my head, these guys do exsist, mayb best opption is to go to a local car audio install shop and ask them if they can fix it if they cant they normally know some one that can, i did that a lil while ago with one of my DLS amps.

what's the part numbers for the FET's? Manufacturer info too if you can

soldering is easy, and sourcing the bits is easier still when you're paid to do it.....

m0rk i didnt realise i could ask you!!!

The amp is a PBX1500d its an american amp the company is called powerbass. As for the FETs part number i dont kno at the mo as there clamped to the heatsinks! Am i right in sayin that in the pics the burnt out items are FETs??

Where'd you get the £10 a transistor price from?

Any chance you can unclip the heat sinks to get the model no's of the FET's?

You could then try one of these sites: www.rswww.com www.rapidonline.com uk.farnell.com as between them you can get most components (I'm guessing this is where you would look m0rk?).

If no joy on anyfront, as you suggest its american made and no joy for components on one of these sites give www.digikey.co.uk however digikey are expensive so use as a last resort.

From the pic's looks like impressive failure of some of the FET's, does the PCB look okay? Or is it just stained from the smoke / heat?

I've had transisters short out on lamp divers for traffic signals not quite the same kettle of fish but worrying when the tracks lift of the PCB due to the heat generated!

Hope this is of help, give us a shout if you need any advice as I dabble in electronics in my spare time.

catalogues are 'ok' and may well supply to you - I was just thinking that I have access to a broader 'range' of places to look

they won't be a tenner though! - but as suggested, just remove the metalwork around them & get the info off one
