Do these cars never depreciate? :(

I've been looking for one of these for a while. I always said I'd never buy a brand new car as they lose so much value so quickly.

However used ones seem to be on the forecourts for the same money, if not more, than the factory order prices that you guys have paid.

If anyone has bought used and you don't mind saying what sort of a deal you got I'd be more than interested in hearing about it?

Cheers!

Buy pre reg and save a bit on cost new price. AC are doing standard FR tdi's for 15988, and im sure you would get a bit of the advertised price, although if your like us all on here you will want 18's, bluetoth etc etc..

Buy New

I never though I would buy a new car, but found the same as you. New cars for less/equal to ones with 4-5k on the clock.

Mine (spec below) was from Seat Autoworld Sheffield - they sell all over the UK. I dealt with a chap called Simon (Say Mike recomended you) and refer to a quote from Dealnegitiator web site.

New - 6 miles on clock - £16350

Hi i bought mine second hand (PICK IT UP TOMORROW CAN'T WAIT!!!!!), 07 Plate in Black Magic with 18" Alloys, Bluetooth and Winter/Convenience Pack. Has 7200 on the clock and has first Service included in price.

£16250.

I'm not sure if this is a good price nationally, but in my opinion i was very satisfied with the service i recieved whilst negotiating, and personally feel it was a fair price.

Have to say, although I didn't end up buying from Irfan, (Due to location), he seems very knowledgeable and is extremely helpful. I would recommend him to anyone for good customer service!!!!!!

Thanks for the replies so far fellas.

My thinking was this:

It seems you can get a brand new standard car for about £16k from top blokes like Irfan.

Working by my old mans theory of "you lose two grand as soon as you drive it off the forecourt" I thought I might be able to get a 12 month old 10k miler for £14k-ish.

I guess thats no longer the case now that British buyers have woken up and stopped paying over the top prices to start with.

Oh well, it'll just have to be a brand new one for me I think!:funk:

I know everyone says don't buy new, but it's just so tempting. The prices don't vary, so it's even better! I hope you enjoy the car! As you're opting for an FR, make sure you take advantage of the 0% Interest they're offering on them at the moment. I think it's only on new ones and as you're buying new, well, there ya' go. =)
