Interesting thread, what are the wattage of the bulbs that come as standard? Anyone got some pics of the blue vision ones? Waiting for k4ith's night time shots :p

You'll probably find your headlights aren't aligned properly.
When i first got my car i changed the bulbs to blue vision ones. That night i got flashed loads and was getting fed up with it. I had a look at the car with the lights on and found mine to look the same as yours... brighter on one side, so i took it to SEAT and told them that they look out of alignment and could they sort it.
They were out and they did it for me while i waited for free. It's something that should get checked during the PDI but how many new cars do you see on the road that dazzle you? Loads.

changover was a doddle, with the difference though i am not sure, i took a pic last night but it didn't look any better, making me wonder whether they are out of allignment.
Road signs in the distance seem to light up better though, going to book the car in and check the allignment.

Cuprito that pic has got me thinking! I was all set to buy some HIDs. Need to find some matching sidelight bulbs now. Have you got anymore pics please of the diamond vision. Also some people say that although bulbs like these look good they don't have that much coverage have you found this?

I just bought a set of H7 Philips X-TREME 80% + off a ebay seller in Poland (there are Poles still living there ??) complete with a set of blue vision sidelights

£26.99 SHIPPED

Fair enough it aint going to be over night, but at that price, I can wait a week or two

I've bought these too - must say the range is impressive and although you don't get the blueish tint they still look like xenon's. My missus was driving the Leon behind me the other night whilst I was driving a work car and I was quite amazed at the 'whiteness' of the bulbs. Look a lot, lot sharper than the Philips I had in before.

I am interested in colour matching my halogens to my Xenons... has anyone else tried this and what bulbs did they use. Also, how easy is it to change the bulbs with a Xenon equipped car? I read in the manual that you should take your car to the $tealer to change any bulbs due to the qork invovled!

OT:

Fair point, but if they are going to go to that extent to invalidate my claim, then they are not an insurance company I want to deal with. I doubt a reputable insurance company assessor would be looking to invalidate the claim. But you never know  . I think the point made about heat build up is valid though, ran 80w in my previous cupra for 2 years with no ill effects.

Coop, someone reversed in to my car whilst it was parked on our drive and the first thing the insurance assessor did was to check the tyre treads. I asked him why as the car was off the road and parked and he replied that if the treads weren't right the claim wouldn't be paid out... So my exeperience is that insurance companies first priority is how to get out of paying any claim and then if they can't they pay out, grudgingly.

Legalised fraud, insurance!

A guy I used to work with had an old Vectra some special sporty edition. Someone reversed into the front of the car. When the assessor came to check out the damage he started quizzing the owner whether it was the original spec bumper for that particular special edition and even left to investigate it. If it wasn't the original spec bumper it would invalidate his policy. The owner had to search through owners forums to find photographs of that model spec from new to prove it was. I couldn't believe it....really annoys me[:@]

Looks good Jace, how difficult was it to change them.....any tips?

Yea, get a small mirror & a torch to see whats where, & also, you can see the inner of the lamp from the out side, you know what I'm saying when you have the torch shining in.

Took minutes once I'd sussed they lay out, took the main beam out in error too, so at least I'll sort that with ease when the time comes.

I just ordered these through e-bay. I had to after seeing how great they look. You know how long it takes for them to arrive, roughly?
