Has anyone done the above mod? If so, did you get the parts from the stealer, or elsewhere? How much did you pay for it all?

car washes are easy

this is slightly more involved, you need the right tools too, for example a spline drive to remove the steering wheel

Halfords sell these in sets for about £20, you can easily remove the packaging, use it and then take it back to get a refund

.....not that i'd ever do anything like that ;)

I agree, there is easy (for those MVT's, ex MVT's and DIY MVT's) and there is easy.

Perhaps a spanner rating of 6 or 7?

Thanks for that link dude, havent seen it before.

I'll do it all myself anyway. I can strip cockpits on fighter jets, so a Leon is just a drop in the ocean

6 or 7 out of 30 maybe......

if you can follow simple instructions it's straightforward.

Not many people (including enthusiasts) that I know are confident with any kind of wiring let alone tinkering with software such as VAG-COM.

You obviously are confident M0rk, think back to when you first started tinkering with cars, would you have attempted that?

I still think the likes of Haynes/Bentley would give it a spanner rating of 6.

the first big job I did was changing my gearbox & clutch.

was daunting, but it wasn't hard.

Wiring wise, the CC install on the ibiza was my first. and I had only a basic wiring diagram, and just worked the rest out.

worked 1st time.

yes, i'm confident, but isn't everyone who 'thinks' about looking at this?

Bently manuals rate it that high? I'd say there are far more involving things to do given that the entire CC install on the ibiza was done inside 90 mins
