Another question, does this model have an 'Aux in' as standard or was it an optional extra?

It was only introducted on the MY07 models, which was after the Sport was dropped for the FR. So no, none would have it.

Mine has one, I don`t have ipod/bluetooth or usb as an option. Apparently if you don`t option usb/ipod you still get the "aux in" near the handbrake. So it makes the ipod/usb options not so good a deal apart from the fact they power/charge the ipods and look neater.

2007 fr tdi, only got it last week. was built to order in week 37, so built mid september.I asked this question too when I noticed a aux in the centre.

I have an 06 TDI sport, it doesn't have it, wasn't on the options list, as Dan said it came in later on the FR models.

It's a dash mount with cradle for the iPod.

Just plug it in, it charges and is controlled by the steering-wheel controls (if you want it to)

I think it's what Seat dealers fit as an aftermarket mod, but they fit it in the glove box or under the passenger seat.

Unfortunately yes.

IIRC, the whole thing cost me about £90 and I fitted it myself.

The dashmount was extra.

The hardest part is getting the head out in the first place.

After that, it's all about making sure you've got the right components.

IIRC, I got it originally from here: http://www.ipodcarkitdirect.co.uk/ - but a couple of years ago - got the new bits I needed for the Leon afterwards.
