hi guys, got my 02 plate cupra yesterday and i must say the car is sweet! got a couple of niggles if anybody can help at all? when the car is not boosting at low revs there is a ever so slight hesitation when applying the accelerator but its ever so slight. when the turbo is in there is no issues whats so ever.
the other thing is a couple of times when i go round a sharp right hand bend or an island im sure i heard a massive like clang from the rear. its only happend twice and the car has been fully checked on a ramp and its fine. sounded like something moved in the boot, any ideas on these issues!?

hi mate, glad your happy with your car,get some pics up! as for the noise from the rear, check underneath your rear carpet and check that the jack and spare wheel are located and tied down and bolted down!!

could be sparkplugs maybe?

could be, the car had a 40k service at seat before i had it so it should of had them. just been in the spare wheel compartment and there was loads of loose change and stuff rattling about. the bit where the jack is kept was pissing me off. the jack and tools are kept in some kind of casing and i couldnt secure it properly so ive put it in the shed! any ideas how and where it should fit in?

Sods law will say you'll need that jack/tools if you've put it in the shed!

I have a space saver, which bolts down, and the jack/tools are secured inside the centre of the wheel with like a large rubber'y strap.

he's talking about turbo lag. Dont know if thats what your referring to? Or do you mean the car "bounces" when you put your foot down?

oh i know about turbo lag its not that, lets say your driving in 5th at low revs with no turbo and you go to ease off then reapply the power its hesiating ever so slightly

any quick fix for a squeeky fan belt?

I wouldnt worry about that just sounds like its doing it because your at low revs....as long as its not hesitating anywhere else e.g. 3000 revs in 2nd gear etc then its probably nothing. Although I suppose it could be signs of a coil pack / spark plug on its way out
