Hi all,

After two years I have decided to trade in my Toyota Corolla Verso and return back to Seat, I spotted a nice mk1 53 leon TDI SE, im pretty sure that I will buy it the only thing I am unclear about is the significance of the red "i" in the TDI badge. I seem to remember it has something to do with the engine power. The sales person seemed to have no idea other than telling me that some just have it and others don't.

I'm sure that one of you lot will have the answer.

Cheers, Matt

I would not hold yourself to:

Red I - 110

Red DI - 130

Red TDI - 150

Thats what i thought and would make sence, But is not always the case. Best of taking the VIN number from under the screen and giving it to a dealer, he would tell you what bhp version it is.

Or try:

Upto and including 110BHP - 5 speed gearbox

130BHP and over - 6 speed gearbox

Hello

I got a 52 reg with TD(red)I just 110Bhp I'm not sure what the 130 insurance group is but what I have read they are alot better engines... more mpg and stuff if thats what your after!!

So if i make the "T" RED i get 150 bhp? WOW cheapest mod ever :)

Prob looking at around group 11 for fr tdi

I confirmed it today when I spoke to a different sales person, Red I is 110 bhp and it is a 5 speed.
I'm collecting it on Thursday, can't wait. I even got them to throw in a towbar half price.

Thanks for your input guys.

Matt

ive got just the red "i" and mines 110 bhp

best bet as said is to look at the how many gears its got.

upto 110bhp only has a 5 speed gearbox

the badges are usually put on at the dealerships in some cases so are not allways correct/representative of the cars power.
