currently hull, then brighton!
evening all,

Just copied pabs's idea and fitted a Cupra R front splitter, i now miss the driveway by the depth of my little finger, currently sits at 10cm from the floor.

thats it for me and multistorey car parks. :)

not the best pic but look alright, thought about colour coding it but decided to stay black instead.

looks nice, certainly an improvement though youre losing some of the length of the columns on the original 'r'...

im always pleasantly surprised by how cheap this sort of stuff is from seat dealers. i catch mine on almost everything the first time it happened i nearly cried then i would screw my eyes up and flinch, now i dont give a to$$ i just hear 'crunch' and grin and say 'good!'

at that price i might buy 2 of them cus I can see the current one getting ripped off by something sooner or later!

Can I ask how you guys get enough access to the bottom of the car to alight and fit your Splitters? Do you have access to a ramp or something?

Also, do the self-tapping screws come with the Splitter, as a Kit ?

Cheers in advance.

you can do it on the floor, dont need to jack front end up or anything

the splitter just comes on its own, you need to get the self-tappers from B&Q/Focus etc
get minimum of 8

Hi RikH, cheers for your reply.

Bit confused - how do you have enough clearance to screw in the self-tapping screws and perhaps use an electric drill to drill some guide holes?

I'm presuming the Splitter is screwed in under the front bumper, or isnt it?

yeh screwed into the bumper

just use a screwdriver and plenty of upward pressure and it will go

use masking tape to secure the splitter onto the car where you want it to go
then get under and screw the self-tappers through the lugs in the splitter (note it helps if you start them off before you put the splitter on the car).
oh and you can (but dont need to) cut down the two centre supports a bit as they arent designed for the cupra bumpers

Cheers RikH, thankyou for providing further information.

Will look to purchase the Splitter shortly and will do it at the weekend, when I have plenty of time to get it right ....first time! :)

I parked mine up on top of a roundabout (in my cul-de-sac) to get access underneath and used B+Q self tappers and my cordless drill

Me and a mate lined it up, maskin taped it in place, trimmed the middle 'struts' on the splitter.

Bite the bullet an screw in the self tappers, don't really matter if you bugger it up 'cos no one will see unless under the car
