As Andy and Georgel know I have one. It's a great piece of kit and very easy to fit.

Unfortunately I'm away from home at teh moment so won't be able to post pics of my install untill tomorrow.

As for it fillting in the cubby below the HU George, It'll fit no problem. Was your idea to makle some kinda faceplate with holes cut for the display and buttions and mount it onto the rear? I was thinking of doing this but am happy with teh way I managed mine in

Cheers

Hi

Thats all I needed to know mate. I wasn't planning anything fancy I just wanted to stick it there if it fitted as that cubby hole is useless. As soon as you pull of everything falls out lol.

Get the photos up tomorrow while I order one off ebay for £65 delivered. :)

Taken from a low angle so you can see the cable, from the drivers position, you cant see it.

Parrot Pics...

Taken with camera phone and some at night but hopefully quality is ok!

Parrot1.jpg

Parrot2.jpg

The Display shows phone name, battery power of phone on left and signal strength on right. Mine also says Network OK however with some phones it displayes your network provider.

Parrot3.jpg

Took me a while to get the wire hidden away like this with the radio surround still sitting flush.

Parrot4.jpg

Microphone, cable run up A pillar and along front of headlining then through interior light.

Now for the night shots:

Parrot5.jpg

Parrot6.jpg

Parrot7.jpg

Parrot8.jpg

this is what it looks like when in use, bright screen and buttons lit up. It's showing the Parrot symbol as I had switched my phones bluetooth off.

Parrot9.jpg

This is what it looks like when in standby mode, a slight glow so you can see its all still connected.

This is a fantastic piece of kit and I highly recommend it. The voice control is great. If you mute the stereo or your music is low and you say "Phone" it brings up the voice command bit, i.e. Phone Brian would phone the person programmed in as Brian. It takes a bit of setting up and I recommend using voice commands through the Parrot rather than through the phone.

If you need a guide on how I fitte dit let me know and I'll knock something up.

Hope this is of use,

Cheers,

Brian.

Cheers Brian thats excellent.

I ordered mine off ebay yesterday for the tidy sum of £65 delivered. Your install is very tidy indeed. I was planning on putting it in the cubby hole, but if the screen would be hard to read theres not much point. The screenless parrot would have been fine there mind.

I have to say it looks tidy enough where you have mounted it. If it turns up tomorrow I should be able to get a crack at it sometime over the weekend.

If I get stuck i'll chuck you a pm or update this thread!

Thanks again mate.

Smart Install!

Cheers for that Diss - as said, took ages to get the wire just right by removing tiny amounts of plastic from behind the dash, being careful not to take too much away so theres no gaos when the Parrots removed.

No worries at all mate, the install is very easy, just for reference, I removed the panel below the glovebox and put the blue box there as it was very tight behind the head unit.

These look cool... I quite fancy one myself.

Not 100% at the moment as I don't know if I want to keep the Ibiza or not... but either way with this unit installed do you get the voice coming through your standard speakers - or do you have a separate speaker for that?

Cheers guys

all through your standard speakers which you can turn up or down with the radio volume controls. Great if you can hear someone on the other end of the phone because of roadnoise etc.

As Brendy says mate, it comes through the car speakers, although I turn mine up or down with the Parrot itself. Always great quality and most folk I've spoken to don't even realise i'm on a gands free!

If you install it then change cars Chris it's realy easy to uninstall to put on your next car, I recon I could fit another one of these in less than half an hour now I've done it once.

Cheers.

I installed one of these in the Wife's Smart and then took it out and put it in her Copen.

Think the Copen install took about 45mins. The hardest part is finding somewhere to put the control box.

Its a crime that you live so far away from me, I'd have paid you to fit mine going by the quality of your install.

:lol:and at £240 an hour minus 10% SCN discount + £3.50 for scraped knuckle plasters that would be a total of £111.50 - well worth it!

I'm sure you'll do fine mate, I found the hardest part was removing the trim round the radio/climate unit, there are 2 screws which are underneath the CC display which are a pig to get at!

When u fitting it mate? Did you get the "Special edition" (although not sure whats special about it) black one like mine or the Black/silver one?

Cheers.

Hi mate I managed to get it fitted. I did it the same as yours, but with the mic at the top of the A pillar. Unfortuneately I had to move the dispaly up a bit as it kept cutting out when it was mounted as snug as yours. It still looks pretty good though. I'll chuck a few pics up tomorrow! Cheers for all your help, the pics came in really handy!
