ABS Light

hi last night i went out in the car and the abs light had come on.

ive been searching the site for over an hour this morning, and come to the conclusion that its most probobly the sensors. its been said that sometimes cleaning these might sort the problem out.

whats the best way to clean it? jet wash and then spray with wd40?
is it possible to clean it without taking the wheels off?

can i do any damage to them when cleaning?

i havent got vag com so i dont know which one it might be, so will clean all of them?

if it was that they were just dirty will the light go off automatically or does it need to be reset?

how much would it be for a seat or vw garage to stick it on the vag com?

First of all nice car mate not mant 2.0 topaz blue ones as far as i'm aware!

I had a similar problem to do with the abs however my light never got stuck on.I just jet washed the sensors.If you follow the only wire from the brakes it should lead you to them,its just behind the wheels,I was able to clean them without taking the wheels off,just meant I was lying on the floor at funny angles lol.

Shouldnt do any damage as long as you don't keep the jetwash on one place too long.Hope this helps a bit

naa mate,literally just blasted it with the pressure washer lol,should do the job i hope

give in a good blastin, loads of crap come off, worked a treat, jobs a good'n

well i thought the jod was a good'n but just been out for dinner and the light came on again..... pi$$ed me off a bit, and then it was on still on the way home and then went off again? could it be that i got alot of the crap off them but there is still more there? or just one is faulty????

any help would be appriechated

Probably just still got crap on them. You need to give them a good blasting with the jet wash again.
