Splitter.

As everyone probably knows Im getting a gti splitter and an lcr splitter at the end of this week.

Ive saw the gti splitter with bits cut out on them. On the passenger side of it. Will mine come like that??

If it does, i was thinking of adding alittle mesh behind the holes. How cud i attach this to the plastic if i decide to go ahead with it?

One side is cut out as standard the other isn't i think something to do with the alternator being behind it, you could glue/screw or fiberglass it on if you wanted

I just thought about the mesh thing as something different. Dont know if it has been done before or not!!

The reason i was thinking of it was that i have a little mesh left from when i did my grille and was just thinking of something to do with it!

If i remember correctly the guide on here to drilling your airbox also shows some pics of the splitter meshed.
Also the holes on the passengers side of the splitter are something to do with the tdi ibiza - cooling or something

Right folks. I picked up both of my splitters today. I know how to fit the LCR splitter to gti splitter,but theres one thing...

what do i do about the clip bits on the supports around the middle of the spiltter??

Looks like they should be clipped into a slot on the LCR Bumper. I was just thinking of cutting 2slots in the bottom of the gti splitter and pushing them through.
Any help/advice/assistance would be appreciated!

I thought of doing that also. Then i was thinking of making 2 slots in the bottom of the gti splitter then push them through. Would maybe give it alittle extra support in the middle.

Ive put my LCR splitter onto my gti splitter but i seem to have did it different to everyone else.

I dont have any pictures show it but i have kept the 2 vertical piller things in the middle of the splitter on and cut 2 slots in the gti splitter and clipped them in. So the bit in the middle is lower than the edges. Think im going to have to take it off and change it.

I think i will change it, worried about speed bumps as there are several in my town. I want to keep the vertical pillers (or alittle of them) So i will just cut them down middle section is flat.

Wont take long to do and gives me a job tomorrow. Regarding fitting im going to have to drill the 2screws by the wheel arches as they are rusted to f*** and when i tried to remove them the heads crumbled!?

£18 for the GTi one
£20.02 for the LCR one.

I cut off the slot plastic bits on the LCR splitter and screwed 12 self tapper screws onto the GTi one.

Has it been fitted yet?
