Ibiza Year 2000 EPC Light

Hi,

I had my Ibiza clutch, cable, pedal and bracket replaced a week ago and ever since then the EPC light is constantly on. The garage did their best to investigate this since they accepted that the light was not on before they did their work. But they have not been able to resolve the problem. I'm not a technical person, but they did investigate at length and changed the "brake vacuum switch" to no avail. I've been without the car for days on end now yet nothing seems wrong with it, apart from the EPC light being on. The brake lights work fine, etc. Why might replacing the clutch and other components have caused this to happen and does anyone know what the solution is?

Many thanks in advance.

ok well it could be the brake light switch, it could also be on the clutch pedal sensor...its above the clutch and its a white switch, might not be in place properly

EPC light

Had the same problem since my clutch pedal plate snapped, as stated previously check the white clutch sensor switch hasn't come loose, mine popped out and does so every now and then as the thread holding it in place has started to wear, the EPC light comes on, once popped back into place (even while driving) the EPC light should switch off.

thanks. In the end I paid for the Seat main dealer to resolve this, which they did, for a price :-(

A month later, during heavy rain, I had water coming in to the driver's side. I was completely p***ed off with the clutch dealer by this stage and again went to the main dealer, who diagnosed that the clutch cable seal grommet was not properly in place. They fixed it but I will never go back to the guys who did my clutch. They are supposed to be cheap, but they "found" plenty to make it expensive when the car was already in bits in their workshop and they left me with these two problems, happily now solved (by someone else as I say)
