Well the time has come to get some things fixed that have appeared recently on my much beloved FR TDI :(

1. Going over any bump induces a noisy clunking from the rear.
2. The dreaded dash rattle.
3. A rumbling sound from front right wheel.
4. A kind of scraping sound from the clutch when changing at low revs.
5. Left, rear passenger window will not open/close from driver control.
6. Rattle from front passenger underneath.

My dealer was astounded when I realed off my list but was relieved that I had waited a few weeks to be sure of all the above. His chief technicians test drive confirmed them all as well ;)

In next week for all the work, courtesy car booked :)

hope they sort them all out.

I had my rattle, wet windows and AUX port fixed, but then on the day we left for Cornwall found a rattle in the front door which seems to be due to the work they carried out.

Didn't half bug the wife.:p

They seem confident and rang me today to give me the reg of the courtesy :)

To be honest, I am as equally confident as they haven't yet disappointed me. Will update once I have her back on Tuesday!

S8N,

My FR goes in on Tuesday for warranty work, all the rear lights apart from the offside quarter have to be repaced due to cracking, also the heater on the drivers door mirror doesn't work, already had the nearside xennon headlamp assembly replaced (over £300) & the drivers door window was jamming.

If it's of any help I also had a rattle in the front passenger footwell (above 90mph) it was one of the brake pipe clips, which they moved, it's OK now.

That rattle could well be the brake pipe on mine as well! I shall them to check that!

Cheers for that, this is all useful info for my dealer :)

Nice job they did as well ;)

1. Going over any bump induces a noisy clunking from the rear:

Fixed. Bloody jack had moved! Doh. I felt guilty as hell about that.

2. The dreaded dash rattle.

Something clipped had shifted. Appears to be fixed on my "brisk" journey home :D

3. A rumbling sound from front right wheel:

Dissapeared. Didn't ask but it's gone :)

4. A kind of scraping sound from the clutch when changing at low revs:

Closer inspection with tech revealed it only happens on hills. Wierd but they tinkered and it's gone (tested on my slopey driveway).

5. Left, rear passenger window will not open/close from driver control:

Fixed. New motors and some effort :)

6. Rattle from front passenger underneath:

Jack point lose. All fixed.

Overall, my baby is restored to it's proper glory AND they washed as well. You can say what you like about some dealers but I got quality service today :D

It's a confidence booster as most dealers are crap once they have your money!!!

They had a white cupra demonstrator there. Fully loaded with every extra and side skirts/spoiler. I swear I had to run out of there. I wanted it SO BADLY!!!

- I have the same problem, but thougth it was just a loose connection in the driver's switch because the rear window can still be operated from its own control and from the key fob, and I was going to try to fix it myself (if I can work out how to remove the driver's switch without damaging anything); so I'm surprised that new motors were required!
