Thought I'd stick another pic on of the new 501 LED's in the dark so it's a better impression of their brightness, and they do look a little bluey in my opinion...

Possibly the street light right above isn't helping

What's everyone's views on the fact that these so called "white" LED sidelights are coming out a bit blue....... I know they look alright when the HIDs are fired up. But i can't help thinking when i've just go my sidelights on, i'm going to get pulled over...... or worse...... someone will think i'm a chav :-(

I'm just going to leave them as is, tbh.

I'm not overly worried about them being a little blue-ish, cos most standard fit on beemers seem to be slightly blue.

I suppose time will tell, come next mot time, but I alwasys take my cars/bikes to the same family run place (he's a fair chap) and see what he has to say...

you sure? i read in alot of places they can melt if not sitting far enuf away from the lens

If, you can get the hid units insode your angel eye lamps someone else on here can't remember who, has angle eye lamp unit's fitted with HID's and from what i recall had to take the units apart to fit.

But yes in essence the HID bulb units are generally 35w where as obviously the original bulbs are 55w so there is less heat generated and less current being drawn.

The problems can arise if you fit higher wattage bulbs like an 80w or above which can melt or damage the lamp unit...

And infact i managed to turn the reflectors in my old 306xsi yellow using higher wattage bulbs..

I have the same PIAA sidelights in mine, and i agree they are very good.
They look quite blue in this pic

Nice one cheers for the pic davey, they do look a little bluey, but then so do mine especially against the standard 55w dip beam's, hopefully less so when the HID's are fitted

I've ordered some of those ultraleds ones to go with the HID kit my loving wife is getting me for Christmas (I suppose that makes them Christmas lights??), should arrive tomorrow - I'll let you know how they fare, if I can get the things in with frozen fingers.
