Does anybody know the AGG well? What is the biggest power limiting factor on this engine? Small ports? Low compression?

for example, with a c16xe the first thing to change is the induction manifold as the OE one is very limiting. Where would you start with an AGG?

SCHRICK do a 268/268 cam - not sure how much they are, but they are reputably very good.

Oh yes

Im too used to DOHC cars.

Insurance on a 16v is considerable more expensive. I'd rather just do a bit of work on an 8v.

135bhp would do

I've got a 2E 8v. It ran 126bhp standard at 'old' AmD's rollers (when they were still based in the village garage in Islip in the late 1990's). Following a rechip (AmD's own), a panel air filter and a Supersprint cat-back with no centre silencer, it ran 136bhp & 154 lb/ft in 1998.

Earlier this year, after 9 years and approx 65,000 miles, with the only additional mods being fitting a cold air feed into the standard airbox and using 99ron fuel instead of 97ron, it ran 141 bhp and 149 lb/ft at the Performance VW rolling road day at Storm Developments in Aldermaston.

So you can get the stats you want without resorting to a cam. Biggest problem will be finding someone who will rechip a NA car!

Now that i have the car i don't really fancy cams and headwork. Its already pretty fast as it is :funk:

Panel filter on order atm, then i shall weld up an exhaust system for it. Then a remap and i will be happy :)
