Boost Controllers

Anyone run one?

I'm tempted to try one out to see if i can get a little more out of my turbo at the top end of the rpm as i'm seeing under 70% WG duty.

Also what is the deviation on boost, is there a rough limit of percentage you can go over and under the requested boost?

Would be nice to be able to drop the boost in first gear and raise mid-top end in higher gears.

I'd like to use it when i get my turbo setup sorted as well which will be on Revo Stage 3, so i guess the second part of the question of the deviation is quite important.

Ive heard good things about apexi avcr. Ive still yet to fit mine, but recon it should cure my boost, im dropping from 1.4bar to 1.2bar up the rev range.

i have the greddy more then 3 years on my car.
low boost set to 0.9 bar,hi boost set to 1.48 bar and hold 1.25 til 6300 rpm.

its just a switch , that you have got to plum into the ecu somehow , i took it of my old cupra r ibiza as i thought that was what was causing it not to boost properly , but it wasnt , its the one jabba charge £100 for , its nothing like an apexi one , its just a small black box with a knob on it

you would be best of with an apexi one , send bill a pm , i think he is running one in his car , hooch will also tell you if they are any good , i think he ended up ripping his out as it was causing problems , not 100% sure , give him a pm , thats why i have always stayed away from them , as i never seem to hear anything good about them ...

why you binning it matt ??

Because i always wanted the car to control its own boost levels, JBS said they will be mapping it with N75.

Just means 1 less thing to worry about.

Dont get me wrong, its a great bi of kit that does the job very well, And Beattie, yes it will eliminate the boost drop as your GT2X held 1.4 Bar on mine all the way to redline.

It also means i can free up some space inside for oil pressure gauge and boost gauge.

Also the Apexi can be set to deliver different boost pressures in different gears to reduce wheelspin which is handy.

Matt, give me a shout if you want to sell it. ;)

I might see if i can borrow one to try it out, at least i have the requested figures on vag com so i can set it up using those.
