I don't think you can, as the engine mounts for the 1.4 are completely different to the 1.3.

In the MK4 Polo, you can only G40 a 1.3 shell.

convert the 1.4 to a s/c 1.4, dump the G40 idea - that way it will 'fit'

though you'll need to fabricate the mounts etc for it, and work out fuelling etc

still a lot of effort for zero gain given it's fairly low output

ibiza_streg: unique, certainly, but.....

Choby: I take it if you do decide to change the engine, you'll be uprating the suspension & brakes too fella.

I thought vr6 or 1.8 turbo is going to more expensive then to g40 it actually I just wanted a little toy to wheel spin etc etc, so I wont be doing much work on the suspension i think

I'm not an expert on engine prices, but I'd wager there isn't much difference in value between a g40 and a vr6, due to the relative rarity of the g40.

Yeah, engines are cheap....

G40's worth having are even less cheap.... because of the expensive 'charger

it's a 1.3 that makes 113 bhp standard (that's only a couple of bhp less than my 2.0 8v). And they are easy to tune with a better charger on them.
