ok i called GSF and ordered my set of brembo discs and pagid pads ...when i got there to collect they pulled out something called Jurid? and said thats what got delivered instead. ive never heard of them before so i didnt buy it, i didnt wanna leave empty handed so i bought zimmerman crossdrilled ...and im getting my Mintex Xtreme pads tomorrow.

what you think is the zimmerman x-drilled and mintex xtreme a good match? or should i give back the discs and cancel the order of pads and look somewhere else?

Cross drilled disc do have a habit of cracking if used hard, better off with dimpled or grooved.
I had new black discs custom grooved and ebc green stuff pads on my old car much improved over standard, discs worked out cheaper than buying grooved ones too.

Zimmerman Disc's are well respected in the VW crowd so will be the same for the Ibiza! had a plain set on my last Ibiza and did nearly 20K in it of hard driving and it looked like they were a couple of thousand miles old!

Go for Ferrodo D2500 pad's they seem to be the favoured one's on here, Bill @ Badger 5 (see sponsers section) is the man to speak to for those!!

Oh and the cracking thing, not saying it doesn't happen but I've had various set's of drilled discs (recomend Tarox Sport Japan disc's) and never had a problem and I drive alot of roads that are demanding on the old dinner plates!

Porsche, Merc's, BMW's, Zonda's etc etc all have drilled discs so they can't be that bad!

ok i heard that the cracking is due to the discs (like brembos) being drilled after they were made and not during.

i wanted opionions on the mintex xtreme pads if anyones got them?

i wont be pushing the car hard, no track days, just motorway and town driving.

i kinda got the zimmermans in the end on the looks more than anything, having little holes looks cool hehe.

also are Jurid and pagid the same?

zimmerman drilled will crack, especially if you take em on track..
just keep an eye on em... and look out for little cracks propogating from the holes.. its when they join up they're truely shagged.

I have mintex extremes on standard brembo discs - awesome, noisy though. and a lot of fade on castle combe - could have been my heavy foot though!

Oh yeah the other trade off is noise but if you want a smooth quiet ride go buy a exec barge!!

If your bakes don't fade at somepoint on a track day your not trying hard enough ha ha

fitted my brakes, wore them in correctly (or tried to considering traffic) ...they started smoking on the motorway got me shook lol.

... but why do they squeel!!????!!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!? i saw the guy when he put them on, he put on a dab of copper grease on left and right corner/side bits of the pad. do they need them all over the back of the pad too?
