Do it every 50K to be safe!

Mine cost £75 but I know the garage as I used to work in it and chuck a fair amount of business their way,
Stealers charge about £300-350 all in if I remeber right, a decent garage will prob do it for around £200 depending on their Labour Rate.

Would also recomend getting the all the velts done in 1 hit or each one costs the same in labour each time as what needs to be taken out of the bay to access!

'bookmark' is 60 k but lots of people do it if they have bought a 'plus' 60k car and theres no history of it being done

Mine was done at 59k (according to the service history) but I'm getting mine done now, at 95k, just for piece of mind really.

should cost me about £140 or so, but thats plus a 30 quid water pump as well

Mien won't really cost much, as I'm having quite a lot of repair work doing at the same time, thought it ebst to get it all done at once.

His brother's just bought a Mk3 Golf GTi 16v and he just did the cambelt on that. Said it was a piece of piss...

Having just bought my Ibiza I rang Seat to check how often to change the cam belt. They now recommend every four years no matter the mileage, seems a bit too often to me, probably a way of grabbing a bit extra cash!!

think youll find thats on brand new cars, which 'do' an average nowadays of 15k per year.. so works out at 60K anyway??

i did the cambelt on my 2.0 8v Ibiza at 60k, took me 2hours to DIY it, and that was going SLOWLY as it was the first one I'd ever done.....

changed the cambelt and timer for under £45

Mine was done a few months before i bought my car. It was done around 72k. Personally i would have done it before this, but i didnt have the car when it was changed!!

Cars sat at 75k atm and the previous owner said it was done at 50k....thers no receipt to prove, so im getting it done next week again(!)

cheers people, think ill book mine in soon then, should be able to get it done for under 150 as i know a mechanic through me mum!
