Aren't you at all concerned where it will transfer the load to .... looks smart though. Just wonder how much more stress it will place on the drivers side engine mount, maybe a 2nd bar on the opposite side of the engine?

I not sure how any of the other mounts will be stressed more?

The tie bar sits directly parallel with the fron mount, this stops the engine twisting.

All seems good. But this is a new one for ibiza's i think so we may well encounter problems, but without testing we will never know. Its well thought out though.

All i was thinking was that if the engine is stopped from rocking at the top, surely it will simply find the weakest mount and try and rock there instead - or maybe if it can't move it will transfer the load to the clutch ..... i don't know for sure and i'm no expert - i'm just thinking out loud.

that's what I was thinking - it's gonna move I hope that it's not by stripping the threads out of the engine block to mount.

There is still some flex in the engine. So should be ok.

VT race mounts are near solid yet no one says anything, my engine is still sitting on flexible mounts with a flexible tie bar.

Only time will tell.

Well mapping date is confirmed for the 20th october which is also the JBS open day, so should see a few of you there hopefully.

The car is staying with them for 1 week and should be ready to pick up on the 27th which is the VW/ Audi day.

Fingers crossed for the outcome.

Back to wheel alignment. We have just got our VAG spec Hunter kit at the new shop now. Ive been playing with the settings on my car.

This is by far the best setup ive found.

Front camber at -1'40'
Front Toe at 0'00'

Rear Camber is usually about 1'30' to 1'50'
Rear toe is usually out of specs, but thats because lowering it messes it up. Somewhere around 0'30' will do.

The kit we have can also calculate bump steer. Wasnt cheap :)

Matt, try those settings and let me know.

What'd be the cost for alignment on my Ibiza? don't need bump steer calculating - but the front wheels pointing in the right direction would be good.
