Awrite folks just new to the site....... got a 2002 mk4 ibiza couple of months bak and noticed the rear lights condensate almost everyday for no reason, wondered if its a common fault with the cars.....anyway to fix or is it a rear light replacement??

aww well thats no popped off yet better stay tht way lol

well cheers anyway bud

yeh my 07 rear lights have started condesating and me mates 06 model front and rear have done very badly

its very common

I think all of them do it, and SEAT won't do anything about it. They claim its because moisture can ingress through plastic lenses, but we all know its because the seal's so bad at the back of the lamps.

You can take the lens off the car and put it in the sun with a silica gel sachet inside to absorb the moisture, but it'll only come back after time.

well if mine do it (when i get the car) thay will be going back.

Thay Shouldn't do that its a hazard

NO mate all seat dealers are well versed in the "oh yes its a common fault but you lights will burn the moisture off in a few seconds" bullshit. I do love my beeza but I wish that seat (VW at the en dof the day) would stop pissing us around with shitty door seals, window seals that allow wind through them (key word there seat is seal) dodgy components fogging lights squeeky suspension... hmmm that list is longer than I like...

i occasionally get the problem after washing the car, but it does clear up pretty quickly, my dads mk4 is terrible though. last time his car was in at the dealers for a service they took pictures and sent them too SEAT uk (this was a few months ago) and this morning they phoned to say they have new headlights for him to be replaced under warranty. i guess its maybe just the dealer you go to, or perhaps how bad they are wether they'll replace them under warranty.

its very easy to solve, just take the back off the lights for a bit on a dry day and let them dry out, then pop the backs back on.

all the dealers do is shove a heater in them for a bit usually.

wow.. thats professional :)

Had those problems too.. drilling tiny holes in the back panel really does the job, if you dont want to start hassling the dealer.
