Smoke & Slip after remap

Had my FR150 mapped monday. When mapped and testing car the roads were wet so wheels spun in third (never got to really test it in 4,5,6). After when the roads were dry it started slipping the clutch in third at just over 2K, will do this in 3,4,5,&6 gears. It also is now chucking out a bit more smoke. Never had any probs with slip or smoke b4 map.

I want advice on what I should do. Do I put it back to standard or get them to take the power down a touch. Dont really want to have the expense of a comp clutch if poss.

Also do they normally smoke a bit more after map if you boot it or have the tuning co set up wrong.

Three choices:

1) Drive around the problem
2) Get your mapper to reduce the peak torque level
3) Get an uprated clutch fitted (do a search...)

agree with muddyboots but i don't see the point in driving around with the problem because whats the point of having a remap if you can't use all of the power.
TBH if you have had a remap you should also be prepared to fork out for a uprated clutch, just read some of the threads on here about remaps and clutch slip.
Who carried out the remap?

Map done by Angel Tuning. Mate had his D5 done at same time, his has done 80K prior to map (mine 26K) and he's well chuffed.

No point in driving round the problem or I might aswell have it stock.

With the remap and 4 new tyres a clutch at min there's no chance

Think If they can lower the torque thats my only option at this time.

Still worried about the black smoke when you boot it, expected a bit more but my rear bumper is going black.

Black smoke is a sign of overfuelling. Mine will do this if I boot at 1500rpm, but I make sure I have the revs high before hoofing it and it's fine (2000rpm+ is usually ok) - Black smoke throughout the rev range is not good and is a sign of air/fuel ratios not being quite right (too much fuel, little air = unburnt fuel (smoke))

Clutch slip is normal. Driving around it is not too hard, but I recommend anyone going for a remap should prepare their car for the extra power first - this entails fitting better brakes, and a good clutch system.

Didnt get a max torque figures as it was a generic map. Ive now paid the extra to have the switchable map. I flashed it back to standard and got no slip, also after a longish run say 25miles it seems not to slip as bad. Will have to get a uprated clutch fitted after crimbo.
Does fitting a better air filter reduce smoke any.

Nope, but it will help your car breathe better. Get a green panel air filter :)

Make sure you get a decent clutch that can handle the extra power, otherwise it will start slipping again....

Maybe it will help if you turn down your EGR valve. Then you'll get more fresh air into the engine.

Mate the smoke thing is fine, its because before about 1700rpm the turbo hasn't spooled up so there is extra fuel being fed into the engine which isn't being burned, seriously don't worry about it. About 2k miles after I had my remap done my flywheel went, which in turn buggered the clutch, and I didn't have any slip at all before. If I were you I would go for a new uprated clutch asap if yours is slipping already.

if clutch goes altogether i will put map back to standard and go off to seat for a new one under warranty the cars only done 26k. Not sure up to what mileage seat will do clutches under warranty.

Two problems:
A) I'd be very surprised if Seat would change a clutch after that sort of mileage, and
B) If they do, you'll only get another standard one, which will most likely slip anyway
