Hi Mate,

Do a search for dension, they make an adaptor kit that allows the Ipod to be charged and played through your standard head unit. About £99.

Cheers

There are short wave radio transmitters that work with any car radio. Dunno whether they are any good but essentially the device plugs into your IPOD and transmits to a radio frequency. You pick up that frequency on your SEAT radio and thats that !

You can get a "connects2" adapter - I was looking for one a while back and bought the wrong one. Twice.

Still got them too **shakes head**

This is the one I bought:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....MEWN:IT&viewitem=&item=140135902094&rd=1&rd=1

But it didn't fit my Leon for whatever reason

If you (or anyone) wants it let me know and we can come to an arrangement as I just want shot of both of them..... (I'll even swap for a fabia rear wiper set.....)

My LC Aura 6 cd changer HU even seems picky with the CDRs it will read :( Think I might have to replace it, but it fits and works so well otherwise!

I got an ipod nano (G2) for my birthday in August and was looking to connect to my stereo in car also.

I bought one of those FM transmitter thingies which plugs into the cigarette lighter (cost £12 online), it works, but not quite as good as I thought it would be.

So I went to Asda and bought an MP3 Cassette adaptor for just under £10, this is even worse! when accelerating you can hear the sound through the speakers!

When you find something that sounds good, charges and also holds the ipod (so you can see it) let me know !

I have seen some sort of an iPod holder in a friend of mines 206...to be honest never actually looked at it properly but it was some sort holder with a blue/purplish light and it seemed to charge the iPod and connect it to the speakers...what it's called or where she got it i duno though but they are out there if you are willing to spend the money I suppose :funk:

I remember when I first got the car I used to connect up my phone because it had 200 odd songs but then just got so tired off it so went and bought a DVD player that does everything so then i used a big MP3 CD...even then I got tired of that so just burn a normal CD for the new songs I want to listen to because it's just as handy :lol:

Got bored of that now though so have ordered a Pioneer DEH-P4900IB with ipod lead, for £119 + del :funk:

I just got an alpine HU with the Ipod adapter and it is amazing. I have the adapter in the glove box and the HU controls the ipod so i just leave my ipod in the glove box. :)

me too! I have a kenwood CD/MP3 CD player with ipod adaptor. The ipod track and playlist info appears on the stereo display, and you browse through things with the stereo controls, same as you would on an ipod. Fantastic..... what's even better is the ipod is out of sight so thieving scumbags can't see it......and it charges the ipod too!

Best bit of kit I've ever bought!! :funk:

Those FM Transmitters are crap. What you want is an FM Modulator, it connects between the HU and the aerial directly so you don't have the interference of an FM transmitter. I was going to buy one for my previous car but just went for a new HU with aux in instead.

Something like these:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Pyle-FM-Modul...oryZ1498QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

You get the idea ;)

Can't help with charging or holding the ipod but i'm sure there's no shortage of things out there to do that :)

Nice, I might look into one of those - What mounting kit will I need to fit it in the stereo gap?

I just got the leon/toledo fascia adaptor from halfords.......that should be all you'll need.....

oh yes and you'll need the powered antenna adaptor (can get these from halfords too) the standard Aura has a powered antenna so you need an adaptor if you fit an aftermarket stereo.

Ahh - I didn't know about the powered antenna.

Is fitting an aftermarket stereo simple enough?

yeah easy. The kenwood wiring adaptor is straightforward, will connect to your existing wiring. Only thing you're likely to need to do is swap the ignition and 12v power feeds round (to keep radio memory when you turn ignition off) but these come will bullet connectors so takes 30 seconds to do!

The antenna adaptor just connects between the stereo and the aerial lead in the car, and has a single wire that takes power from the stereo....

Biggest problem I had is that I have a parrot car kit too, so fitting all the wiring behind the stereo was the biggest problem!!
