HI there guys when i got my stage 1 custom code put on my car, i couldn't believe how much quicker it was it totally transforms the car.

I am in the middle of sorting my self out with a ko3s, hopefully i will get it back end of next week some time.

I was wondering will the step up from standard with phase1 software to ko3s stage2 software with intercooler, exhaust etc be as noticeable as my first re map was?

Regards joe

If you have been driving around in the summer and noticed how it pulls back through heat soak, and then went to all the mods for k03s with custom code 2 I think you'd notice a big difference, as it would prob be a similar increase in bhp, but it would also hold boost higher up the revs.

also make sure you put some decent brakes on and try and sort out your handling a bit more, ie spacers on the back, suspension, strut brace etc
edit: read you have 25mm spacers already

sorry to steal thread but is that what that is my car occasionally holds back i put my foot down and not much happens for afew seconds if that due to heat soak.

Pretty big diff in my opinion, I went from stage 1 CC to stage 2 with K03s FMIC, Milltek DP&CAT, TIP etc. just feels so much stronger and powerful.

Its probably because I'm just used to the k03s but I swear it doesn't feel amazingly faster than with k03. Its only when I have plays with the likes of M3s and skylines I realise how rapid it realy is lol

But I fitted the k03s with smic, then fitted fmic the next month so I guess if you change everything at once it may feel alot quicker.

I think it because the k03 is torquey and the k03s doesnt make huge differences to that but its when the revs build up about 4.5k that where the k03s comes into its own.

how long could go go without putting the fmic on with a k03s? obviously you need it to get the best gains but could you run it without tit on for awhile as u said a month but might be more for me

yeah you can run it with smic no problems but it just heat soaks and the ecu pulls back on power. To be honest I thought it would've been worse than it actaully was tho.

People told me a k03s with smic would be slower than k03 with smic because of increased heat...but that wasn't the case.

orite thats ok then did you have to have it mapped twice,
once when you put the k03s on and then again when you added the intercooler?

I did pretty much the same, revo stage 1, then went k03s with forge tip, then fmic next then d/p and cat with stage 2 a month or 2 later so although i know it is quite fast as i built it up gradually so doesnt feel as quick as it would have done if my mods changed overnight.

Great stuff, some very positive opinions,
Jimyu, i didn't think they would be a patch on the likes of an m3, so its going to be pretty quick then.
Do you guys think a boost gauge is a must? tbh im not really into that sort of thing all seems a bit fast and furious lol. But if it is recommended well i think i will get one

I'd deffinately say a boost guage is a good idea, its good to keep an eye on the boost to see if anything irregular is happening. If you think one in the pillar is a bit fast and furious, then you could get the Cupra R guage holder which is more stealthy and out of view. Personaly I like the pillar pod, and everyone who gets in my car assumes its a factory fit...

Using the cupra r gauge holder is a good idea actually, will give this some thought:whistle:

As for keeping up with m3s well i am amazed. i know they dont too bad against the likes of imprezas but m3s are in a totally different league

e36 m3s no bother, never had a go against an e46 though.

Its so funny when people think because their cars are more expensive they can beat a small hatchback, big mistake!

when you pass them they either get frustrated and flash you or act like they werent trying anyway
