hey guys .... had a few things changed on my car recently , got rid of a blow off valve , put a Forge 007.... got rid of a boost adjuster valve, reconnected everything to standard....

now its runnning about 199BHP according to the guy that put it on the rolling road for me ... but he also said that the car might be running a bit lean before it boosts, but then richens up after ....

do u guys mind having a look at these graphs and telling me if is should be worried ??? :(

cheers :)

So is your car running a remap? 199bhp would say so if so who remapped it?

I'm no expert in this area hope some others who are more informed can add some input.

It certainly looks like it's running rich beyond 5000rpm. Rough rule of thumb is that around 1.00 is ideal, If Lambda is greater than 1.0, then there is a surplus of air and the engine is running lean. If Lambda is less than 1.0, then there is a surplus of fuel and the engine is running rich.

Doesn't look very lean early on but TBH the graphs are a little wierd......sure someone with better knowledge than me can give you their advice

well thanks anyway Rudd ... it doesnt seem anyone else wants to say anything about it .... i thought it was remapped as well but the guy in JP Motorsport didnt mention anything about it... how can i find out

Thank god you appeared Dave.

Can't seem to figure those graphs out - why so much variation between the plots?

Which rolling road was the car tested at???

In your shoes I'd want to first;-

- Speak to the last owner and find out who remapped the car

Then

- Get the car to a tuner that knows what they are doing, where are you based? (we can probably sugest someone)? and ask them to look at it.

well i got mine done at JP motorsport, its in wolverhampton.....someone suggested them to me on here ....

btw it peaks at about 0.6bar and holds around 0.4 ? sound rite ???
so do u reckon it is NOT running lean at any point then ?

So you have a Leon 20Vt Sport, i am presuming an APP engine Code running a KO3 not a KO3S ???...

That sounds very low on the boost side of things,

-with no map you should be expecting peak of about 0.8 Bar, with very little drop of at all, maybe down to 0.7 Bar.

-with a remap you should be expecting peak of about 1.2 Bar and holding about 1.0 Bar.

The power is too high for standard so we would have to assume a remap but then the figures are too low, even on the KO3 turbo you should be looking at 210 BHP.

Recommend getting it VAGCOM'd and see what comes out... maybe G62 (engine coolant temp sensor), lambda senor, MAF sensor etc. These would all give false air/fuel readings and would make the car run differently.

Good luck. Can be a right pain in the arse problem solving with similar problems..

see i expected it to be a APP engine block but its AUQ , so im guessing its running a KO3S turbo ... ive already had the MAF changed , the lambda was giving messed up readings before that ...

my boost gauge only goes up to 1bar .. it was on when i bought it u see.... but its never hit that .....

Must just have been the 2000 model that had the APP engine then... so yes, would say it would be a KO3S, which doesnt alter it being mapped

...standard cars with these tweaks dont rolling road anything over 185ish. So it must be mapped, but not running well, a mapped KO3S would be circa 215-230 BHP depending on where it was mapped.

Loads of these cars run poorly at some point, either lean/rich, low boost/no boost... it is a strong unit so as long as you dont take the mick i cant see it being in any 'imminent' danger...

cheers mate .. ill try and find out where it was mapped and take it from there ... feel a bit better knowing its not running lean .... as that is what was scaring me ....but i mean if it is ... what signs would you see on the car that it was boiling up ?
