well i fitted these about a month ago and although they brake well they are the noisiest brakes i have ever had they make a constant high speed clicking (like when you put a playing card to a bicycle wheel) even when i aint braking (does that sound normal) have taken them to 3 different garages to have them checked and all have said that they are fitted just fine. Ebc say that they should not click when moving only breaking and that the runout is wrong on the disc but have had this checked also and its within what ebc recommend ... all in all i aint very happy ... the noise is so bloody annoying:(

does anyone know the part numbers for the ebc redstuff so i can check that they are the right pads

i have a 2001 seat leon cupra with the 312mm discs

thanks

its both front wheels the last garage i went to seemed to think that the noise was coming from the caliper , so they took it apart and put it back together but the noise is still there , i measured the ebc pads up against my old tarox pads and the ebc ones look about a ml smaller cant put them back in as they are knackered. i emailed ebc to ask if they had any ideas and all they could say was that they are in correctly fitted (so that would mean that 3 garages are wrong ) and one of them was a vw mechanic . also asked if there where any shims to go in them but was told no

How long have you had them on? What sort of milage?
If they are faulty you may be able to get an exchange as they should have some sort of warranty.
You have PM btw

i have the same set up off brakes as you mate,i dont get any clicking, just when i brake from speed,i get a very loud whooshing noise!!
i brought the car with the set up so i dont know the part number but clicking really dont sound good.
does the pads move at all when in the caliper?? might just be slight but when driving,it will move hell of alot

turbo grooved disks?
wide grooves can make the louder noise.

cornering loading up the setup so things touch.. bending hub etc

I had the turbo groove discs / red stuff pads on my LCR and they did the same, clicking constantly - only really audible with window open though.

And braking hard made a loud noise almost like warped discs but without any steering shudder.

Sold it now so never worked it if this is 'normal'!

TG disks have a very wide groove, which is the noise... and louder when used and hot.
Ultimax disks are narrower multislot disks and what I personally reccommend for road use. quieter function

thank you lord im not alone on this ebc say they have never heard of this problem but on searching the net i have found quiet a lot of people with different cars on different forums who are having the same weird noises i am , and they are all using redstuff pads with ebc discs , so once these are worn out i wont be buying them again
