Last week I drove down to Cornwall for a few days with t'wife and was quite surprised how cheap petrol was in comparison to here.

Anyway, I filled up in Falmouth, drove to The Eden Project, then back to Falmouth, then down to St Ives the following morning, then up to Padstow in the afternoon and back to Falmouth. Then drove home on Friday afternoon - all on one tank of juice!! I got home and when I filled up the trip computer said 427.9 miles - which I thought was pretty decent?

What's your best MPG? (petrol)

The trip included the occasional (ok, as frequent as allowed) blat to get past traffic on the various hilly dual carriageways through Cornwall, a few busy sections on the M5 and then a fairly mixed bag of a journey along the A34 and then some country lanes on the home stretch. All in all a pretty varied route...

Before remap i averaged about 23-25 on my usual routes. After the map its about 25-27..... although 9 times out of 10 its significantly worse now, because i cant help but put my toe down all the time.

On a run back from my remap, up the A1 with LOTS of on-off acceleration, it averaged 39mpg over 100 miles, a good 5mpg better than the journey down, which had less erratic acceleration.

So whilst its true the remapping gives you better economy..... it doesnt, because the urge to plant yer foot down actually makes the fuel go faster n faster :D

what you guys need is a TDI!!!!:p
i drove from my home in scotland to peterbourgh and used just under half a tank of fuel at 62.8 mpg. :D That was just cruising at 70ish the whole way. and if the trip computer is correct then it predicted that i could cover 670 miles on a tank!!!

Been averaging 36mpg in my LC 180 for the last couple of days.

Simply been keeping below 3000 rpm and using all 6 gears. Just under 80 mph on the motorway is fast enough when it's crowded, and the A's and B's I use are far too busy to race about anyway.

Tomorrow is a 130 mile run so I'll see what it does on the open roads :)

Well chaps, I may be in with a chance here:

I get, on a weekly basis, over 400 miles from a tank of super unleaded in my Leon Cupra, with Revo Stage 2 and all usual mods inc. FMIC.
My RR results are all around the 215-220bhp mark.

I think the highest I've seen is about 440 miles from a tank, but my average must be around the 380 mark.

EDIT: As for the trip computer readings, I've seen 49.3mpg as my best ever reading, although this is never treated as accurate due to modifications etc.
