Oh yea right, before i forget.
Went to the Volkfest Wales in Margam park a week or so ago with the missus and noticed a load of seats parked up as i drove into the show.
So after talking nice to one of the stewards he let me through to park up next to them instead of having to go to the carpark (result i thought!!)

I parked up and thought il go have a chat with a few owners (as you do!!), but was really suprised that when i mentioned cupra.net to a few seat owners, their reply was that the members on this site were CLICKY as hell and not helpful and then proceeded to just about completely ignore me which i found Hilarious as they were completely contradicting themselves the MUPPETS.

The only Seat owner that i spoke to that day who was a tidy bloke (Benji) and i could have a human conversation with was funny enough a member of this site  Clicky Bast**d

So just a big shout out to all the Complete TW*TS who were there in their non clicky CLICK :D hope i see you broken down or in the stingies one day cos u have more chance of me laying an egg than pulling over to help you

Right rant over, back to nice Dai.

P.S. I didnt go around trying to speak to every person so if you were there and aint in the we hate Cupra.net club  :censored: then this isnt aimed at you.

You probably found a rare breed of Seat Owner who are unable to think for themselves, find it necessary to pay for the priviledge to be an "enthusiast":whistle: , who worship their leader who no longer leads, and feel bitter as hell.

Its definitly not a true reflection of this site fella, and im sure when you meet some genuine members , you will see for yourself.

Some of those people are also on here Phil - i know everyone is entitled to their point of view but threads like this don't help.

90% of the time, it's people like the idiot that ran SCC that cause most of the rumours that create this sort of situation.

It will just take time for the barriers to come down, it's never going to be a magical instant cure - as far as i'm concerned we're all SEAT owners, past, present or future. Which site we're on doesn't matter.

FWIW i camped with the vagowners forum who are mostly ex SCC, my car was on the SCN stand and i didn't get any stick from either side for doing it that way :)

I can also imagine that there is still a hardcore group of people who will never forgive/forget who are NOT members on here, who are convinced that this site is the route of all evil.

We all know who the root of all evil is and thankfully he's not around on either site.

Equally so there's probably a hardcore few on here who will never forgive/forget either :)

Probably best those hardcore few stay out of each others way :cartman:

I`ve got hardly any mechanical knowledge so this forum is great for me . I was going to take my car to the dealers when the mirrors would`nt fold in , then I saw the post about disconnecting the battery . As there are guides on here for a lot of repairs /mods the comments they made are absolute C$%P . The guy turned up on his own and they ignored him ( apart from Benji ) , I`d call THEM unhelpful and Cliquey .

right, before anyone thinks that im starting a war, IM NOT!!!
Im just stating what i was told and felt on the day. This site is full of excellent info and have found that people on here have a wealth of knowledge.
I used to be a member of SCC, but have no idea of the previous probs so cant comment on it.
If anything comes from this thread i hope its that some people who have a low opinion of this forum can wake up and realise that we are all here to help each other out not to alienate anyone. I have a dream.......!!

I go on other forums and I`ve never seen/had any problems apart from the site u mentioned . The sites/forums that we go on are all helpful , my mechanical knowledge is minimal and all i`ve ever had is good advice and good banter off all sites/forums . If I was one of the people who ignored you I`d be feeling a bit embarassed as manners dont cost anything .

Think to be honest it was more suprise that anything else on the day. Ive been in and about vw's for years and everyone you meet seems to be willing to have a chat and talk about their car etc. That day was no different at all with most people so dont want anybody to think there was an atmosphere. Really enjoyed the show, just cant be bothered with people who aint interested in anyone but themselves.
ITS NOT HOW ITS SUPPOSED TO WORK IS IT???

I dont think there is too much brand snobbery any more , Seat & Skoda are just as popular as VW/Audi . I`m a member of a local forum and there`s everything from old school Jetta`s & golf`s to Fabia /Octavia VRS & ibiza cupras . I`ve got the only LC , I think a lot of younger drivers go for the 2dr ibiza . There`s a good selection of all vag cars

I thought the "Other" lot had become extinct. Not seen eveidence of an online presence so it must be a text based "club" now?
As for the Clique that you witnessed i'd put it down to childishness that this forum is above. If you can't appreciate and talk about some cars with like minded enthusiats, then they aren't worth bothering with.
Keep going to the show's and meets and show people the respect they show you. If they don't like that, then they need to check how they treat you.

Nah they are not extinct, was a faction of them at VWFestival this time, parked right next to us
but nobody spoke between groups at all

An interesting thread forsure, I haven't found this forum Cliquey on the whole and people have been extremely helpful and welcoming when i joined last year :D and in fact satilaboy helped me greatly by sending me some bits he wasn't using...

But i do agree that having been a member of a few 'so called' car clubs over the years some of them were incredibly Cliquey but I won't post the names to protect to the quility..... Ford RS owners club :roflmao:

And Tbh, I did join that 'other' forum which has now dissapeared, and it was a little bit like that.

If there is a thread I think I can help someone with I'll try to do it, but it is nice to get a thanks mate if you've been out of your way to get people some info of the net, isn't it, as i'm sure we'll all agree.... :help:
