Ive had my LC for 6 months (on finance) but im bored with it now and want a lcr, mitsi evo, maxda rx8 or rx7. What choices do i have................can I part ex at such an early finance stage, can I sell private (even tho its on finance) or can I take the car back to the garage I got it from????

Any help would be much obliged as i dont got a scooby..........or should i say an evo, lcr or mazda!!!

Can part ex any time you want on finance, but you'll be making a loss. Garage will buy it back at a stupidly low price and you'll be left with a big chunk of the LC finance added onto your next car finance

e.g say your car cost 10K, garage buys it for 8K so you'll get 2K added onto the price of your new car (does that make sense?)

Hardly anybody will buy it private with outstanding finance - Fear is they give you the cash, you dont pay off the debt and their new car gets repossessed!

Best off is to get a low rate loan, buy your car outright from the finance company, punt it privately now its clear, use that money to pay off the loan early, then refinance another car!

My mate had an RX but sold it when his oil bills exceeded the fuel bills!

Agree with that ^^^^

All the above are good cars, but all, except the LCR, will cost you much, much more to run than your LC. The LCR will cost more in terms of fuel, insurance, tyres etc but nowhere near as much as the others.

I feel like ive got the baby sister.............when I want the older sister (shes more developed and puts out more) The LCR looks better, is faster and even the small things like the folding mirrors, make this a more appealing car.

Not used to having a car thats less than 200BHP

why didn't you go for the LCR in the first place if you think it looks better is faster etc etc, whichever way you go its probably gonna cost you,how about a re-map?
will liven the LC up

for money your gonna lose trying to sell your car & buy another car.... aprox.(just a rough guess) may be 2-3 thousand pound. Have you thought bout going to firms like JBS auotodisgn or Jabba Sport look in to the IHI turbo upgrade route.....a lil food for thought

The LC is quick enough imo its only slightly slower than the LCR and plus its how you drive the car really isnt it? Now Get a remap and the LCR body kit it will work out better im sure(EBAY). You will lose too much money if you trade it in trust me my bro is a car sales man he has told me all about the ins and outs.

Oh and my LC has folding mirrors what year is yours?

I agree! Do some customising and have some fun! Make the car into something you want to keep! If you buy a LCR you may be bored with it again in 6 months! If you're going to waste money... waste it on mods!

didn't think LC's had folding mirrors

turn the mirror switch to the 6 o'clock position to fold them in.

Mine does! Import so packed with extras, including leather, armrest, electic/heated seats and headlight washer jets!

Moving back to the actual thread, I would strongly recommend a re-map, you'll see over 200Bhp and loads more torque. I did it and gives my LC the power it should have had.

Mine wont move to the 6 oclock mark...............damm. lol

Right...........what I will do is book in for a re-map and buy the LCR front bumper. Ive arlready got 18inch wheels............then move onto the brembos in a couple of months.

Diamond geezers the lot of you........restored faith in me and the LC

If you get bored with your cars easily I'd go straight to the Evo. Buy a decently modified one and I doubt you'll ever get bored with it :D

i agree but drive with sence and care. oh and my LC is not an import and it had folding mirrors but no armrest or leather but i dislike leather anyways as in summer they stick and in winter cold seats so im happy with mine:D
