Squeaking sound from mirror in Cupra TFSI

Over the last few days I am hearing an ennoying sound when automatically folding the passenger's side mirror towards the end of its turn ... It is quite different than before and certainly not compared to the smouth sound that the other (driver's side) mirror produces... It sounds like something is impeding its movement (cracking)...!!!
The car has only 1700 Km on odo since early July 2007 ...:( Do you think that this is something that I should worry about and drive to the dealer to check for ...??? Has anybody had a similar experience in Leon MkII with electric folding mirrors ...???

I think this is quite common. happened to mine a few times. took it to the dealer and they greased it up. Still does it slightly though.

chris i got the same problem @ 2000km...
when i got to the service they greased it up but it came over again and again...
service says that there's a wire kind of thing in the mirrors...it makes the sound...but our mirrors are fixed to the door...repairing that wire would be a pain in the a.s for the service..because they need to remove the door panels and etc.
i get used to that sound...and it sometimes crackles less=)

I've got an annoying graunchy sound from both mirrors. Tried WD40 which worked until it rained. Also despite carefully spraying just a small amount, it left a smear down both doors where the rain / car washing washed it out which I had to polish out. So if your thinking of trying good ol' WD, it isnt really a solution.

Same on my drivers. Only does it now and the but does not do it in rain - guessing its acting as a grease or something!

Yes me too. Mine does it on the driver's side, a crunching/grinding sound starting to get annoying - will take up with dealer next time there.

Upon collecting car was told they had replaced both door mirrors as both were noisey! replaced my ass! you can see the grease on mirrors and blob on A post they kindley left me, another fine service from seat dealership.

I just got my FR back from a service at the dealer and they replaced some parts in the mirrors and they no longer grind/squeak. All I have now is the noise of the motors. :)

I asked what was replaced, but the woman at the service desk couldn't tell me. The exterior of the mirrors are the old ones, so it wasn't just the whole mirror that was replaced.

Hope the grinding noise doesn't come back!

ours is 5 days old and the passenger mirror grinds like a bugger, the drivers one squeaks a bit towards the end of the turn, will probably get them sorted at the first service.
