i think the cupra set up is fine for me until i have more power but thats a long way off. if i rememeber correctly you can get replacement red stuff and ferroda pads, maybe others i dont know about, i just wondered if they were any better than the seat ones???
If I remember right you need to heat red stuff pads up before they become effective as they're designed for track use, so on daily road use they probably aren't the best idea.
go for ferrodo ones. mentioned alot on the forum red stuff are still good driven ibiza with them and very good firm pedal and good response, to be honest standard pads are perfectly fine you dont really need much more with 4 pot brakes!
i thought when people spoke about the 312mm conversion they were talking about the cupra upgrade but iv never looked into it so didnt want to comment incase i was wrong.
if i remember right im sure last time SEAT charged me less than £20 for front pads. will look out my receipt when i get home.

thanks, tbh i think this is the answer i was lookin for, im sure ferrodo pads are about £90 or something silly like that. never had any probs with the standard set up but just wondered how good upgraded pads would be compared to standard and based on what u have said im findin it hard to justify the huge price difference, at the same time it would be nice to stop a wee bit quicker!

i've got a link to the SEAT website on my pc which has got the spec for the ibiza cupra (mk4) and it says it has 312mm front discs. i think that they use the same discs across the vw/seat/audi range which is why people say the TT upgrade, as (correct me if im wrong) the TT has the same 312mm discs, but not the 4-pot calipers
the tt has diffrent calipers to the cupra 4pots! think the cupra 1's are the same as that are on the clio v6! anyway ive got standard cupra setup and it is more than enough for me!!!!! They go a little spongy when youve been hitting them hard regulary but for everyday use with an acatiional moment they perform very very well!!!!!!
