Restoring the colour to my car

Hey guys,
I own an 51 plate Leon cupra in ovni yellow but am stlightly upset about how dull it is.
On the actual bodywork, it has three different shades of yellow. (Not to mention the platic parts.
Normally i would have used a coloured T CUT, but cannot find a Ovni yellow T CUT
I purchased a bottle of colour restorer T Cut but all this did was gve it a nice shine.

Is there anything else i can do or buy to bring back that original colour or is it a matter for the painters !! !

i had a spoiler fitted onto my ibiza, which was bengal yellow. after a while it started to go almost white, so i used normal t-cut on it and it brought it up brand new. then i polished it with wax and it never faded again.

hmm, im sure i will be able to keep the colour once i get it back, but wondered if there was any magic lotion to bring it back first

aye, plain old t-cut. honest mate if you could have seen the colour my spoiler went. i really didn't believe that it would come up so good but it was brill. t-cut then wax it a couple of times. like new.

im in the same boat as well, car looks its got 3 different panels on it! so far ive tried auto glym ploish, turtle wax polish, megalyn spray wax.
Mines was fine due colour but i started usiung t cut.
by using t-cut does it add layers of paint of or does it improve the current layer?

i dont feel like washing my car some times.

i believe it removes a layer of paint which brings the colour back to new looking, obviously not something you should do every week but doing it the once will do your car no harm. just remember to polish it afterwards to protect the virgin paintwork. if it was really bad stuff they wouldn't sell it. alternatively a machine polish will do a very good job. but it will cost a lot more.

ll big lad, thats fine mate.
But i already used T CUT and it doesnt seem to have done anything.

Tcut releases loxidants in the paint which should say again SHOULD bring the colour back. Maybe a bit of persistence and do a few coats i dont know. will this damage the paint work ? ?

Try this from halfords! it shoudl worker with yellow, it makes it look darker.

Ok, your paint has faded, this could be due to oxidation on the surface of the paint.

The easiest was to sort this out would be to machine polish the whole car.

Otherwise to sort this out you will need to do a few things.

Firstly use a claybar on the car, meguiars quick clay is good.
Next use something like carlack 68 or klasse AIO, they are both the same just klasse is for the US market, this should remove the oxidation.
Follow up with a paint sealant and then a carnauba wax on top of the sealant.

my rear spoiler was badly oxidised and just running over it with a Porta Cable brought it back to life

like neil said though clay the car first then go at it. It's hard work by hand but its more then possible to achieve good results

i suffered this problem when my lcr was being repaired whole side came out brand new, rest of car looked heavily faded, looked white compared to new paint spoiler n bumpers, luckly my boss agreed to fix the colour by resprayin the whole car.

seat onvi yellow from the factory is too thin! there is practically no paint from factory, which is disappointing.

I suggest that u aquire a machin polisher or get it professionally done, but i assure the results should leave quite a good finish. do remember ur paint in now 6 years old.

sorry if this is long winded, but i hope this helps explain ur situation.

tbh i dont really enjoy or like the though or t cut a machine polish will use a better quality polish.

Your right, the claybar will not remove the oxidation thats why you need to follow up with the carlack 68 or klasse AIO, one of these should help remove it.

hey guys there IS a yellow coloured t-cut colour magic ,i got some from one of the t-cut retailers.ask around as it is available .it is a genuine t-cut product ,i think mine cost around £7.00 mark.......so don,t dispair

Watching this one closely as i have the same problem. mind you the new panel at the front is very nice and yellow!
Also tried T- cutting it , not too hard and did help alittle but nothing that i would say was worht all the effort! Tried several waxes but just gave a nice shine. I suppose there is always a respray?!!

True! ive treid nearly all of halford brand! i dont want to get it resprayed as it cost a arm and leg!
